A 'Brown Derby', it was called. They sold it in Wimpy.
I miss Wimpy. My mum was a waitress in the Wimpy back in the old days. She used to make us marvellous knickerbocker glories. Having put in a full day's work yesterday, I seem to have missed a lot of excitement. Might try to catch up today, but I do need to go out and get milk. Yes, I did say stocks were adequate, but that was before I remembered my brother was coming round. He takes milk in his coffee. Also, I've gone and bought crunchy peanut butter. I much prefer the smooth kind. |

| Talking of Mum's, I've been to see my Mum today. Some strange and pleasant things happening with Mum at the moment. |

| I just stuffed myself with my own home-made ciabatta. Do I feel guilty? No. Do I feel bloated? Yes. |

| I'm having sausages and mini Yorkshire puddings for tea. I found a money-off voucher for my next Aunt Bessie's product in the Yorkshire packet.

| I have plenty of milk and coffee.
On another note. Just a quick update....
The 1.8 ton British bomb, together with the 125Kg American bomb, have both benn made safe. Koblenz is as it was yesterday (mundane).
It's also raining here which is a break from the mundane. |

The fresh water is off again. Another split in the main apparently. |

| I've found the Post Office, but not been in. It was given away by a big red pillar box right outside.
The waters back on now so I celebrated by having a bath. |

Now, I'm no Post Office expert, not having visited one that many times recently, but the times I have, I have experienced no queues at all. Funny that. |

Fresh from Spain. From Spain!!?? Now that's interesting! It really isn't. There are also big kick ass RO plants (Reverse Osmosis for those that may not know....this is a Mundane thread so Google it!) here to augment the supply, along with boreholes. The water used to be collected in rain water catchments on the East side, but those aren't needed anymore. |

| Is Reverse Osmosis the same as rain?
I've got far too much to do nowadays. Missing my afternoon naps, but planning to catch up over the festive season. |

| It's exactly something to do with desalination.
Not quite water into wine (unfortunately), but it is salt into fresh. Ships use RO plants too...at least the ones I go on do.
I asked about this at work today as I had nothing more mundane to do.
Apparently, there are 2 big RO plants inside the Rock and a further desalination plant at North Mole. The water from Spain was turned off a couple of years ago. We are now self sufficient again. |
