| As a single game that was the worst display I've seen from a Sheridan's Argyle team. With Rotherham caveat that I've not seen every game and I'm not encyclopaedic about past games. It was just the feeling I had whilst I was watching yesterday. |

| In terms of individual players ability the team is crapper than certainly the latter part of last season. In fact I'd say we have the least talent in the division. Our only hope of avoiding being thrown out of the FL next May is if Sheridan is able to drill these truly terrible players into a unit that isn't so easy to beat. Or he gets some L2 standard midfielders and strikers in on loan. As it stands we are among the worst teams, if not the worst 'team' in the division. |

| Personally I can see Sheridan walking out of frustration as he slowly realises the package he has been sold is not quite reality... |

| Reality needed here, Brent has wasted two years fuckin around with Fletcher and blown a lot of useful budget, we are now almost starting from the point that we did two years ago. |

| Whoever the Chairman is, he always gets criticised for not throwing in buckets of money. Right back to Ron Blindell, as far as I can go. |

The reluctant bidder doesn't 'throw' any money, he 'loans' it. In the meantime he's developing his pension fund, his real business interest, whilst limiting the club to big fish in small pond status for generations to come. |

| The problem lies with the fact Brent kept Fletch in a job for too long.
If Brent had grown some balls and sacked him sooner when it was painfully obvious we were only going one way with him in charge, we may have been able to consolidate last season and push on this season.
Sadly this season will be a season of consolidation and nothing more. |

| As long as we don't consolidate another relegation battle. |

| We're much worse than the second half of last season but better than this time last season. I'm still saying 14th or so. |

if it was worse than the games at York and Rochdale then that's a totally unacceptable display. one aside though - free travel = 1nil defeat. |

blimey that bad, some games under Sheridan have been poor. 14th ? more like 19th year on year improvement long way to go yet, too many have unrealistic expectations. poor side, decent manager, indifferent owner. |

| Fwiw, I think the playing budget is probably the main cause of our likely indifferent season. If we'd have gone all out to contribute to Banton's wages, I think Holloway would have sent him our way. If we'd have really tried to get Joe Bryan from City, he'd have come to us as they are in financial trouble and probably looking to trim the wage bill. We could still get Lee Cox and I hope we do as we need him.
Point is that if the club has backed Sheridan to get those three players then I think we'd be in for a play-off if not promotion season. As it is, I still think he'll keep our heads above water but no better than that. Hands are tied to an extent. |

| Why would Sheridan walk? He hasn't been sold anything he didn't know about. He is bound to have been given a budget and this is now his team and nothing to do with Fletcher. This isn't a budget that was thrown at him and he will have always known what it was.
This result on Saturday may have been my fault. I was in Membury Services on Friday when the team coach pulled in. Having read the Dane Bunney manual on football management I gave them a pep talk based on it when they got off. The rest is now history. Sorry. |

Sadly this season will be a season of consolidation and nothing more. Don't be daft, Fletcher was an 'exceptional individual'. Which says a lot about Brent's knowledge and ability to run a football club. Which he isn't of course - it's that little nuisance that's tagged on to his ever expanding property empire. It doesn't matter where we finish this season - it's way down the list of priorities. |
