| Two points picked from Scunthorpe web site Their star man... The Pilgrims boast a Zimbabwe international in their ranks in their player of the year – Onismor Bhasera. He won the official club’s player of the year as well as one awarded by a local newspaper. He was a shining star in another wise dark, dull season for the green army. The left back signed on a free transfer in 2010 and has played over 100 games for the club. Conor Hourihane won the young player of the year after replacing Darren Purse as club captain in January. They also have a young starlet in Tyler Harvey, who Cardiff City reportedly have on their radar. The 17 year old has bags of potential and scored on his full debut in a late equaliser against Torquay United on Boxing Day. Plymouth’s academy has been applauded after the likes of Joe Mason, Jack Stephens, Lloyd Jones and goalkeeper Chris Walton all moved on to upper tier clubs for significant fees. Last season... There is no doubt that Plymouth struggled last season, finishing only one point above the relegation zone. Argyle finished 21st in the League 2 table, managing 13 wins and 21 losses. It was often said that they lacked a consistent goal-scorer with their top scorer finishing the season on 6 goals. However there were some small positives that came from last season’s efforts – Plymouth Argyle were named the League 2 Family Club of the Year at the Football League Awards. This comes after its Community Trust initiated new regimes at Home Park to encourage families and younger people to attend their matches.
