15 months is very lean for what he did. He will be out in a quarter off that so what was the point in the thousands spent on this case if he isnt going to be punished at all.

I heard on the radio that he got 15 years! 15 months? I know people who have got more than that for much more trivial crimes.

Acording to the bbc the judge was constrained by the sentencing rules that applied at the times the crimes were commited. A new one on me. In the 60s and 70s there was obviously a nonces charter.

and me and if this is now the case with these historic cases than whats the point in taking ken barlow, rolf harris and all the others to court i ask? as if they are found guilty of their crimes (innocent until proven guilty as always) they will get a slap on the wrist more or less instead of a sentence anyother would have got if they were found guilty of it today and how much money would have been wasted in doing that?
