BRENT- Go Big Or go home

I think the perceived incompatibility between the alleged large budget and the underwhelming signings can be reconciled fairly easily:

1) I doubt many other clubs had much more money to play with or even signings that much more glamourous (bar Rhys Griffiths who was to glamour what Guy Branston is to silky passing) it was just that we had a less competent manager than most others. It doesn't really mean we had a smaller budget imho.
2) Players like Purse were taking up stupid amounts of money and was tied down on a deal. So whilst we may have had the 3rd biggest budget, we certainly didn't have the third biggest budget to spend on new players which is I suppose the figure which actually matters.

As for spending this Summer- JB has said he wants us to be self-funding. Fair enough, it is only League Two. Burton came 4th ffs so I don't think we need him to dig deep into his pockets in order for us to do well. What we do need him to do however is sign Sheridan or if his wife really refuses to come here than Warnock. I'd have much more faith in those two on a smaller budget than in Fletcher on whatever budget he was on.
