| Not many colours amongst this lot. Who exactly did they go there to fight? Wigan hooligans? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] There is a photo that will be shown to death of a little girl scared shitless of the violence around her also of a genuine fan caught in the middle of it all. You got to feel sorry for the genuine millwall fans to which there are many who go to games to support their club get tarred with the brush of thug thanks to a few idiots who probably watched football factory too much. |

I've meet a few, the hooligan element has taken over that club your right. Will it ever change? no i feel but the only tool the fa has is by hammering the club in turn to hammer the fans along with the police hard on the ones that do ruin the club for the genuine ones. |

| There was a fan who rang into 606 who was still absolutely distraught at having to protect his daughter. He was still crying at the memory of cuddling into him.. Was afraid to leave the ground at the end of the game. Absolute idiots for a club I know fairly well and who try really hard to get rid of there reputation and the twonks who are obsessed on holding onto the past. |

| To be fair Millwall are a team who appeal to every knuckle dragger in the South East and its obviously not because of the football. Does not help when they have celeb fans like David Haye, Rod Liddle, Danny Baker, Bob Crow and Andy Fordham who seem to revel and promote the thuggish image of the club. |

| Scariest moment of my time on the Board - Sylvan put us 1 up at the New Den and Millwall fans start pelting their own Directors with coins. Had to move out of the box. To be fair their Board works incredibly hard to try and rid the club of the image - trouble is too many of their fans revel in it. |

James Brent woudn't mind that as there's a bloke that sits near him with a big bucket. It was disgraceful - there were 'normal' fans in amongst all that. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those involved were non-Millwall affiliated. |

| I went to Millwall v Everton Cup match at the New Den back in the mid 90's. On the train from London Bridge the carriage was packed with Millwall 'fans' wearing no colours singing sectarian songs. Everton fans in the carriage were shitting themselves, taking their scarves off. It must have been the longest 10 minute train journey of their lives. |

| Scariest moments of my life-the old Den,January 1967.Millwall 59 games without defeat at home,Argyle without an away win all season.Millwall 1 Argyle 2,Bickle and Banks. All things Argyle were attacked with some vigour after the game, including the team coach, players, directors and supporters.I was only 7 at the time but i still vividly remember the noise that the crowd generated when Millwall got a goal back [heard nothing like it since,it was primal] and the old man tearing my Argyle rosette off and telling me to keep quiet until we got back to Paddington. We saw Johnny Newman and the boys back at Plymouth station, there was quite a crowd there to greet the team, famous occasion which made national headlines. |

| I didn't go to that game but I remember friends coming back and talking about it. Coaches smashed, major violence. The most vivid story was of a young Millwall kid - younger than 10 - hitting out with a metal bar at Argyle supporters. He was able to do it because there was a gang of Millwall grown-ups behind him telling him what to do. It was clear that if our lads tried to stop him worse would follow. Happy days. |

| I think the only way the club will ever rid itself of the hooligan tag is to take the drastic step and move the club out of Bermondsey and into another area of London! Millwall perhaps?
That area is notorious for trouble in London and that will never change and while the club remains there it will never rid itself of trouble IMHO. |

I used to live in Catford and there were a few Millwall fans around the place there but Kent and the suburbs futher out seems to supply the majority of the fanbase - e.g. places like Sidcup, Bromley and Orpington. The areas near the ground i.e. South Bermondsey, New Cross etc are pretty rough places to say the least with lots of gang type, robbery type violence which is all completely unassociated with millwall fans. Like with a lot of South London inner city areas the indegenous population has largely moved out to the suburbs and beyond. Unfortunately for Millwall it has a long history of hooligans and villains following them which has built up a reputation which wannabe 'hardmen' want to be part of and therefore choose Millwall to follow for that reason over other 'local' clubs Charlton and Crystal Palace |

If the Millwall remains in South Bermondsey it will never rid itself of the reputation that i know from seeing it for myself they have worked so hard to change. Perhaps taking the club to Kent is the answer let the true fans of Millwall have their club back.

In January 1967 when we beat Millwall and took their 59 game unbeaten home run away from them.......no one in his right mind would be wearing a green scarf at the Den......even walking away from the ground I tried to look as miserable as the locals to save my skin........always having trouble every home game in those days. |

Anyone know what they were fighting about ? The Millwall President and Commercial Director were having a discussion with DockJock and his friends from an independent Millwall forum about the future direction of the Club under its present ownership. |

| Lol. I have got some mates from Millwall and they are all rough as fook, they fight each other a lot of the time, there are a lot of violent people around their, they fight at the footy, in the pub, in the park, they just like fighting. I've had a couple of dodgy times at the New Den, my mates wouldn't meet me anywhere near the ground before or after the match as I would have deffo got a kicking. West Ham, Millwall is always pretty fruity as well I was staying near there when they played about ten years ago and it was proper mental.doubt it will ever change. |

| At our home game with them in the Championship the bleddy women among the Milwall fans were just as frightening as the men. Leaving the Lyndhurst there were as many women looking for trouble as men and some looked like they would give you a right pasting |

| Talking to City fans yesterday they seemed to think that mounted police were necessary to prevent a large group of knuckledraggers in green getting at our supporters a week or two ago.
Let he who is without sin and all that.
Wall have tried everything to rid themselves of these vermin, certainly more that you lot who have a noted ageing hoolie in your directors box at every game. |
