My children inherited £100k each from their Grandfather this week. Not a King's ransom by today's standards but a valuable nest-egg just the same.

The youngest boy wants to start his own business using the capital rather than 'saving' it. What business areas would you look at in today's climate if you were a young enthusiastic self-starter with £100k initial capital?

I would DEFO sponsor me to complete the great sarf run.

I'm expecting £100k, but I'd settle for £75k.

Sushi?

High margins, untapped SW market (in fact anywhere outside Ldn really in this country).

Not the scary eels testicle raw sushi, but the chicken/avocado, prawn teriyaki type thing which appeals to everyone.

Mock, is your avatar one of those pics that looks different from different angles?

All I see is a polar bear chewing a pair of bollocks

How would that be pissing it away exactly?

How about a delivery service that provides hookers, drugs and booze?

Brighton used to have an excellent service called Booze something or other? You could ring them up all night long and they would deliver Beer, cider, Voddy, skins and baccy, like a traveling off licence, I always thought it would work well in Muff.
Booze Brothers 'twas.

To be serious, institutions such as Banks, Building Societies and Offices often have a problem getting someone to clean and maintain their light fittings, there is a security risk involved. Try going round and see if you can sign up a few, you will need to look clean and respectable.
