Stadium League Empty
PostSubject: Stadium League   Stadium League EmptySat Apr 06, 2013 4:51 pm

Omitting London and Birmingham clubs (they are to close to make a fair comparison) this is the league table for stadium size per head of local population according to the 2011 Census (mostly) leaving PAFC in 61st position and based on a 17,000 capacity.

Considering that PAFC has the largest "potential" catchment area in the country it makes tearful reading made even worse with both Torquay and Exeter having larger stadiums per head.

It can be nitpicked but by and large it provides a reasonable and accurate topic for debate.

bloody ages and a long spread sheet!

Interesting stuff though, amazed to see Tranmere at the top, they pretty much offer everyone that lives in Tranmere a seat in the stadium if they want it.

Yup, Andy will get it. There's a few more interesting things to add yet but it'll be making its way across to Andy and a few others.

Keep it close GOB, the dogs of war will be after it.

Trouble is a lot of them would be satisfied with 61st place.

61st? They'd see it as a triumph that we're not 92nd!

Barring Leeds, the only other two clubs of a respectable size around us share the same city.

I wouldn't compare us to either Lids or the Sheffield clubs, but neither would I compare us to Colchester or Cheltnum...

For Cities with two clubs I halved the population figure so that each club was compared equally, ie Liverpool and Everton, Man U and Man City and Sheff Wed and United.

When Bristol Rovers eventually move on to a bigger stadium as they hope and, Leeds make the same move as they hope, we'll sink even lower down that table.

Amazing really considering Peter Jones and others convinced PCC that they simply must buy back the stadium so that under Brent's vision Plymouth can one day boast a football club befitting of a sleeping behemoth of a regenerating metropolis.

Is anybody else concerned that Gob's spent most of the weekend on this when he could have been fiddling with his carbs?

That's dedication, that is flower

Where does this come from? They haven't even submitted a planning application yet, and they take a couple of months at least to go through.

Northampton Town plan to double the size of their capacity, meanwhile PAFC will be lowering its capacity.
