Statement from The P&A Partnership re Plymouth Argyle Football Company Limited (in administration)
The joint administrators of Plymouth Argyle Football Company Limited (in administration) warned today (October 14) that they are considering resigning from office.
Brendan Guilfoyle said “Our main priority is to get a deal over the line to save the club’s future but the current campaign being directed at The P&A Partnership by some fans is hampering negotiations. Unless protestors desist it is highly likely that the Joint Administrators will take steps to resign from office on Monday.
“Not only is the campaign disrupting our business and taking our focus off the job in hand, we are also deeply concerned about the associated risk to the wellbeing and personal safety of The P&A Partnership staff. No business or its employees should be subject to such foul, abusive and threatening emails.
“If we have to withdraw then the company’s former directors will have to resolve the current issues and we anticipate that HM Revenue and Customs would take immediate steps to wind up the club.”
Brendan Guilfoyle continued: “It is not appropriate to go into detail, but negotiations with Akkeron Group are ongoing. However, I can say that the amount they are prepared to contribute to the administration costs is currently unacceptable. The reason we can’t pay the wages is that we simply don’t have the surplus after deducting the costs we have to pay for running the club. These include VAT, match day expenses, utilities and maintenance costs, player accommodation and travel, insurance premiums and ancillary professional fees i.e. valuers and the PFA’s solicitors. “To be clear, neither The P&A Partnership nor Walker Morris are seeking payment in full (see notes to editors). We are agreeable to accepting a lesser figure to facilitate the sale of the club but not at the level currently offered by Akkeron Group.
“From the outset of the administration Plymouth City Council made it clear that they wanted the administrators to find a private sector solution to the club’s financial difficulties. It is for this reason that the joint administrators pursued a sale of the business and asset of the company to a consortium represented by Kevin Heaney as far as they possibly could.
“It was only when Kevin Heaney, and others, formally withdrew their interest that the Joint Administrators could provide PCC with an assurance that no private sector solution was available. Also, I should stress that the offer made by Akkeron Group in March was, at that stage, unacceptable to the company’s creditors.
“It is regrettable that we are in this position, but given the level of contribution we are seeking from the Akkeron Group we consider that the gap is bridgeable and could be negotiated or obtained in an alternative way. I would personally urge fans to end their disruptive action and please let all parties negotiate the best possible outcome they can to save their football club."

| Guilfoyle and his cronies have got a fecking cheek IMHO.The man is an incompetent, self serving twot, who by his failure to advertise and market the club properly in the first place has brought this situation on entirely by himself.Would another administrator be prepared to take on the mess created and left by the current "adminstrators"? If so,my personal message to P and A and the moronic Brenda would be to feck off out of Plymouth and never sully the city with your presence again.
Rant over. |

| Someone has asked on pasoti where Gullifoyle said that he would pay the staff wages? So far there is no answer. The last report from them in early October said they would be able to pay the running costs but NOT wages. Is this all stirred up unnecessarily?
As far as I can see, which isn't very far, this is normal business brinkmanship. Akkeron want to pay as little as they can and Gullifoyle want more. Thus has it always been. Why has "everybody" decided that Brent is the good guy? He may be better than the others but he is a businessman who will look at the bottom line. He isn't a charity or a Father Xmas as some seem to be treating him. Maybe - just maybe - he actually isn't offering enough. |

| Let's face it... The reason this has turned so nasty this morning is that the Pasoti fanbase has been led to believe that it was a 'done deal' with only the formality remaining of dotting the 'i''s and crossing the 't's.
Oh yes... People were told it was a rocky road and nothing was 'certain', but nobody seriously believed it, because Newell and Webb at the same time were always going "nudge nudge, wink wink, we know something you don't, and Brent and the council ARE going going to be our saviours!!
Well Panda have a different version of events --
According to Panda, Brent isn't offering enough money and never has!!
About time for Mr. Brent to enter stage right and say his piece!
Should be an interesting weekend, possibly Argyle's last match ever?

| Is this a chance to blame failure on non believers?
It is strange that Guilfool has finally spoken out, I'm inclined to agree with FM, brinkmanship.
The Football League are not impressed with Akkerless either. _______________________________________ COYG!

| Mirrors on the ceiling, pink champagne on ice. We are all just prisoners here, of our own device.
Naps was 'bleddy chuffed' a few days ago and was preparing to get pissed, before being carried shoulder high round the Pyramid Suite by adoring Aviva boys. Bleddy northern numpties ! |

| Does this mean James "legend" Brent isn't just waiting for the formality of the ground purchase by PCC before his 'done deal' takeover is complete? Have we been misled? Surely not! |

| I just see it as negotiating positions, where, when everything is done and dusted, everyone gets to be the winner ...... well, apart from the staff that is. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this spat leads to yet another delay and another deferral ... gawd the insincerity in it from all sides has been such a turn off. Here's a small quote from Chairman Webb - Quote :
- Of course there is risk. It is a cauldron [ ]. Should we stay in and fight or should we let P&A demand more fees thus taking even more money out of the staff pot.
My question would be why is it a case of PandA OR the staff ? ... we all know there are other creditors involved in this. I suspect that for some strange reason, these other creditors, who are basically related to the old owners, have been given a very similar deal under Brent as they got under Heaney and no one is interested in challenging that.... it all stinks of a stitch up to me where Brent pays the money men as much as Heaney intended to. In a straight fight between the likes of P and A and a bunch of customers, give me the customers any day. While I wish the customers well in their fight, I suspect their threats of direct action are empty like all other manifestations to date, outside of an email campaign ... big deal. As a side issue, I had to laugh at the Lecointe Arsenal thing. Surely that wouldn't be Ridsdale trying to bump up the final selling price of the club on behalf of the sellers ? .... oohhhh ! look at the size of our assets !! He's a very naughty boy and still doing his job, yet Pasoti Trust and Brent seem quite happy to entertain him in the future. No wonder they all leave me cold And as for Guilfoyle blaming PCC for their decision to go with Heaney ....pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease ... behave yourself Brendan... who are you kidding. |

| So Guilfoyle and the P&A Partnership are a bunch of greedy c@nts - No new news there then.
So Brent turns out to be out of the same cast as Heaney - SHOCK!
Think I'll go back to Corry now, ta ta. |

Should be an interesting weekend, possibly Argyle's last match ever? You've got it totally wrong. WHY should brent have to pay more adnmin fee's to cover p&a's costs while they were pissing around with heaney. Brent agreed fee's with them in his original bid before they accepted Heaney's bid, and again agreed this in september. P&A are trying to hold out for more to cover thier costs whilst they were dancing in the dark. If anyone should pay the shortfall it should come directly out of p&a's pockets for total incompatence. |

It's Panda who are saying Brent never had the money - You have a quibble, take it up with them.
As a side note... How on earth do you know what Brent agreed with Panda? Don't tell me.... It was reported on Pasoti!

| That was a good campaign that has paid off but only to an extent, the P&A Partnership I think, are still demanding more cash from Brent, they've only withdrawn the threat to pull the plug.
If only we saw this action when Stapes was selling off one of the best squads we ever had to make a profit to boost his share value!
I think Chris needs to be careful, he's coming across as more of an agent for Brent then he is a Trust leader, should it really be his job to save Brent money? Maybe now he should be applying a little pressure to Brent to meet the P&A Partnership half way?

That would mean he and Newell, possibly not being invited into the directors' lounge for drinks at half time ! |

Ah ! but our Chairman dresses it up as saving more of the staff's money, rather than saving Brent's money. He's learning the same language tricks as the rest of them. Graham Clark has it about right for me. Nothing has changed whatsoever, and the squabble was always more to do with the administrators wanting to strip and trouser another asset from the club before it is sold. The quit threat was just diversionary ground fire and might have worked a treat. There had to be a reason why the Lecointe story suddenly popped up a few days ago, and he would appear to be the asset and piggy in the middle in this latest squabble, just as Mason was. The sheppard's crook is out for the 16 year old as he probably isn't a paper asset yet, and hence has gone under Brent's radar ... he wouldn't know a football if one hit him in the face. That, or Ridsdale has just created an asset out of thin air with an average 16 year old, and now expects Brent to pay for him. Ridsdale really is trying to leave a club with no players at all, and yet Brent thinks he's marvellous. That doesn't bode well at all. |

It would have stopped the current mess from happening and may have even given us a season or two in the big time. But no, Pasoti were so far up *****wallet's arse by that time the bloke could do all the damage he wanted not only unchallenged by pasoti but but actually enthusiastically supported by them. |

| Indeed PP.
Not a mention from Webb regarding player sales and not a mention from Webb regarding Ridsdale's involvement. An outsider would be forgiven for thinking that Webb is an employee of Brent's Akerton group considering his persistent defending and promotion of Brent along with what seems to be a "no comment" agenda when it comes to Ridsdale. PAFC and football seem to be very much a side issue or a distraction.
So how about it Chris, how about a little pressure on Brent considering you've brought the P&A Partnership back to the negotiating table? After all, there's no point in having a negotiating table if there are no negotiations.
If you cannot see how a little pressure on Brent to negotiate could save the club then I'm amazed. |

| Yes, it all appears that the Pasoti Trust troops all rushed up to Calais leaving Ridsdale the freedom of the borough in Normandy re Lecointe. And you're right GOB, there's a Pasoti Trust opinion and news blackout on Ridsdale.... they're afraid of him. I don't see any campaigns against him at all, and yet who is still numero uno here in all this ? I wonder what the latest betting is on a deal next week .... lengthening out through the door I should imagine. |

More like they've fallen hook line and sinker for all his spin, and believe he's the wonderful saviour he makes himself out to be. |

| He's a proper gent, in fact he's addressing the troops right now in The Dog and Duck in Daggers as I write. He be completely open and let the lads know exactly what's going on as he always does I'm glad to see the Secretary-General is allowing young Jameson to host the meeting so that he will be able to speak his mind without the constraints of being the Trust chair |
