I notice on page 7 of the plans the Hotel car park looks as if it goes right up to the wall of the sub-ground level (players facilities). With having the car park there is this why the grandstand is so small (as the structure could not be supported by the car park). If its a 120 room hotel why the need for a 400 space car park- reduce the car park size and extend the grandstand out so we get more rows up top.
N.b. I know feck all about building and surveying so could be completely wrong

in short you dont. there should be enough spaces for guests and staff with one or two free. so 400 is far too many.

I get as far as where he's posted and then stop for about 40 minutes. 20 years ago it would have been about 10 but that's life eh!

X Isle is James Brent, he must be, unless he backed the wrong horse with all his "honesty, morals and integrity" campaign supporting dear old Brenty and just doesn't know when to call it a day.

Agreed, he's got to be the sanctimonious throbber on the farm.

X-Isle is his own man at least, just happens that he has a habit of backing the wrong horse.

I have a like hate relationship with Smiffy, he doesn't take any prisoners.
He's determined to follow through on the idea that the club must finance itself no matter what and he also seems determined to accept whatever Brent does with the Club, he has no facts or figures yet repeatedly argues the case anyway. Remove the theatrical element from Smiffy and all he becomes is a one trick pony without any substance.
That said, I just lurve the way he shouts down Newell and watching Newell scurry off is quite hilarious at times.

He's not yer average is he? For ages he was insistent that Stapleton and 'organic growth' was the only way and that Rory Fallon was a legend now James Brent is honesty, openness and transparency personified. I'd say when he is posting stuff you agree with he is highly entertaining when you don't agree with him he comes across as sanctimonious and with an hugely inflated opinion of his own importance.

I have had many an entertaining row with Smiffy, we tend to disagree more than agree but he is quite likeable really and we have never really fallen out, he has this way wrong though.

IJN says on the memorial garden thread
Quote :
That is the idea I raised with the committee about three months ago
So the "consultation" about the new (not grand) stand has involved REAL fans for over 3 months. You would have thought the REAL fans could have represented ordinary fans better and influenced the half cocked effort (x2) they came up with.

The memorial garden was raised on pasoti when they were asking for questions for JB's Q & A session 1st time round I think.
I asked about it for the ATD Q & A.

So what exactly goes inside this 'memorial' garden?
Obviously the earth and ashes from those buried on the old pitch - but how are they going to be interred?
What else is going to go on in there?
I can hardly see it a den of Zen on a Saturday afternoon.

Maybe it will be the graves of integrity, morals and honour?

Nah.......... It will be more along the lines of, 'What did you do in the war to feather your own nest ?'

I doubt they will intern anyone in there i think it will be sort of like war memorials in which people can pay to have a plague put in there for someone and a place where ashes can be scattered.

IJN says

I was reminded that it was a tactic of Nixon to think he was thinking for the 'silent majority', you claiming 'there's a huge groundswell behind them on this one' is merely supposition.
This is the man who has been claiming the silent majority for his own for months now. Yet woe betide anyone else who does. You couldn't make it up. But he does.

Has the big buffoon told us who the stadium committee is yet?
And why is he saying Brent is "giving us a £10m stand".
He's doing what the owner of the club should be doing, not giving it us.
