| Dear Marje for some time I have been unhappy with my Argyle supporters' site. It is full of people following their leaders blindly into battle. Their leaders are a rabble-rousing self-serving bunch led by a arrogant thug of the highest order. I have persisted because there are some good people there but I really want away. But I also want to keep up my relationship with my home-town club with whom I have been in a mutually nurturing relationship for many years. I am sure none of this is stuff you haven't heard before.
However there is another site I have tried to form a relationship with - though quietly without signing up to any commitment - that also just does not suit me at all. Let's call it Adey. I have as a guest read lots of posts on there. I wanted a relationship that didn't remind me of my previous unhappiness - one that would lead to some kind of engagement with our mutual love of Plymouth Argyle. Instead all I find are a lot of embittered people who can't seem to use the words Plymouth Argyle without some dig about the site I cannot bring myself to name - lets' call it Vorderpast.
Do you think there is any point in pursuing a relationship with Adey when all he/they want to do is have a scrap with Vorderpast rather than discussing Argyle?
I am desperate. Please advise me.
yours

| You should post what you want to discuss about Argyle, and see how it goes...
It might give you some idea. I have a feeling you have your mind made up already though.

| Sadly the topic, PAFC, and the discussion forum, are almost entwined as one at the moment so it is difficult to talk about one without the other cropping up - and if you are a reader of both then naturally you'll recognise that there will be some bitterness between members on here and there. Whatever you do though, don't go thinking that those on here dislike Argyle tasting success, far from it. My scarf from Wembley 15 years ago is my most treasured item, there is nothing I'd like more than for more days like it.
At the end of the day, don't feel like you have to contribute to either. If you have an opinion to offer on Argyle then feel free to post it on here. I like reading all viewpoints, for me Peter dout and Smiffy (as an eg) are refreshingly different to say Penzance/Tring, but not because they argue or even because they disagree all the time, it is simply because they have their own ideas and own perspective on things. Having to tow the party line all the time doesn't interest me. |

My most favorite thing, believe it or not, is Mariner and Rafferty's signatures on a pasty wrapper from when I watched a reserve match with them back in the 70's! You would be mistaken FunnyMan if you thought that we were not fans, it's just that we have no need to tell the world about it or to use it as a tool to bully and manipulate circumstances for our own benefits. Welcome to ATD, where all views are welcome. |

| Maybe you need some love. I hope you find some.... we all need it and there's plenty to go round. The best time to find it is when the moon lights the late harvest.... about now really.
Mock's got it about right... it's the difference without rancour.

| Dear funnyman
As a true supporter you'll appreciate Argo has never lived up to expectation. We have always underperformed.
BITD merrydown and a fumble up on the Hoe after dark was the answer whilst the likes of Daniel celebrated their profits from the sales of greats like Mariner.
May I recommend a return to the old days, even though I probably need viagra just to watch? |

| Might I suggest you post on the 'While we're waiting' thread. Let's hear your favourite nostalgic moments.
With regard the unsavoury relationship for some of us with Pasoti, I believe you have already realised why we continue to oppose the way that forum is run and the unhealthy control it appears to have when 'representing' all of us Argyle junkies. |

To add to that... I think this Pasoti/Trust v Stapleton thing shows why this site needs to exist. This site maybe small but it far from insignificant, without this site there would be nobody watching "them" and whilst it has no influence to control the pack it does make "them" think before the pack acts. To make a point, has anyone else noticed how the percentage of banned users on Pasoti has dropped since this site was created? |

I cant be certain and maybe well off the mark but in the past I think they waited for certain posters to 'hang themselves' before getting banned (we're all capable of the odd mistake here and there). Nowadays it seems to be 'hang 'em out to dry', send in the pack and belittle 'em. Banning is too obvious. I've a feeling this site will grow over time. |

A Fan Dear A Fan, I was saddened to hear about your problems and woes. It is always heartbreaking when a relationship of many years comes to an end. Now the last part of that sentence may hurt you, but believe me, the quicker you come to terms with the fact that it is over, the quicker you will be able to move on, and move on you must. As for this 'Adey', there is only one way to find out if you are suitable for each other, so you've got to take the bull by the horns, to find out if you are indeed both suited. But remember, the topic you discuss with either, is a dying animal, so there is bound to be more heartache, at least until the corpse is finally laid to rest, then you can all say your goodbyes in a more dignified manner. I trust I have been of help to you, in your hours of need. fRed Marje PS To completely forgo any further heartache, can I just remind you, there are plenty more fish in the sea, perhaps a complete change will do you good? Why not try a neighbour of yours, I hear exeweb is a superb catch |

| Give it up Music Man. Even if we end up in the wilderness and despite the best efforts of Pasoti to divide the fanbase, we'll still be the biggest club in the region........................... and you know it ! |
