Hourihane and Young-I think they're both talented but disadvantaged by playing without a ball winner next to them. Put them next to someone like Ross Jenkins and their technical ability would show. Was a mistake playing them together today. Hourihane has the potential to play alongside a ball winner, but he knows that he is not alongside one therefore he switches to his default defensive setting. I thought he had a cracking game V Morecambe because he actually got forward.
Young simply isn't a central midfielder, I think he is better on the right when he uses his energy to burst down the line and get a decent ball in, certainly better than PCH Young simply shouldn't be on the pitch, as he hasn't got the pace to beat defenders and isn't a decent crosser of the ball! PCH shouldn't be on the pitch either, Saturday was just shocking from Hourihane, Young and PCH! We ain't going to win games when 75% of the midfield is woeful! |

| We're just a poor football team. Weak throughout. Young, inexperienced kids in too many key positions. Too late for Sheridan to sort out I fear.
Take note Mr Brent, you pay peanuts you get monkeys.
Not that he cares that much. Quivering lip my arse. |

| Yep, agree with you on this one Cobi. Hourihane did well in CM (as I believe Young would also have done) because the emphasis to be the ball-winner was not on him. Therefore he had a lot more freedom to roam and do his own thing thus he played much better. That's Young's issue too when he plays in CM...pressure to be something he's not, ie a physical ball winner. If you'd have swapped him for Conor today I think he'd have done equally well. |

| Not sure if young is up to it. Hourihane certainly is and playing a proper midfield seems to have benefited him. Credit has to go to SJS for seeing what the problem was |
