It's yet more damning evidence that Fletcher's contact book was wafer thin.

I'm genuinely disappointed this didn't work out. After the first sighting of him it all looked quite promising. Sometimes fairytales do come true and it would have been a great story if this one had. Shame but you can't fault Sheridan for his weeding of the squad so far. To suggest Chadwick deliberately got himself in bother to avoid getting in his waiting taxi would also suggest there is a thinking footballer out there and maybe far too much credit being given. It does make you wonder just a little though doesn't it.

I'm so cynical about football these days that I could buy that.

We've had more than our share of pish takers over the years.

Another cheap option that failed
He wasn't good enough and I'm surprised that the chance was given to be honest. As has been said other clubs looked but never went further, obviously for a reason and with the poor standard on show he still couldn't make it.
Will admit that he wasn't really helped what with the tactical choices made and the poor coaching

But we DO have a manager who seems to KNOW what he is doing, so it's goodbye to Griffthis we can't afford on or off the pitch to have pasengers given our league pedicament.

Good decision, couldn't meet the demands of a professional footballer. Worth a gamble?, maybe. Worth a gamble when you're supposedly chasing promotion with your competitive budget but he's no better than Chadwick?, certainly not.

Wonder if Mr Sheridan believes in fairy tales and would he ever have contemplated a signing like Griffiths? Doubt it somehow, seems to quite a realist from what i've seen and heard so far.A sorry episode if ever there was one, to be entered into the "Lessons learnt" book for future reference.

Come on, the same was said about Noooooone, cost feck all, did well for us and made loads of money (enter plimuff price here) but clubs like ours need to take a punt, they don't all work out but it's worth a try surely? If he had scored even ten goals this season we'd be looking up not down the table and he probably cost feck all, all in all, worth a try.

In our recent derby I remember Griffiths and the City goalie going for a high cross, Krisiak completely missed the ball and collided with the Welsh striker, ending up in a heap at his feet.

It was the first time I'd seen a pole sliding down a fireman.

Badum tush.

As Freathy said

"32 year old fireman fails to make the grade in professional football"

Where's the headline news in that
