Player Sponsor's Day - Thursday 13th December

So generally... Really as 'Chemi' suggested?

I'm guessing a deadline for those on the list who are able to attend the luncheon and wish to attend, and then a raffle to decide?

And a raffle for the shirt..?

And even though I would offer it up for charity, I hope that someone who wants it for themselves wins it!!

If somebody on ATD is struggling to afford a ticket, I think they should be given one of the free ones. If there are no applicants, then St. Johns or another charity that might be a favourite of an ATD'r would be a perfect choice.

I think the lunch should be raffled and attended by two ATD'rs who contributed ( I unfortunately can't make it, hopefully Tring can accompany sensible). Whoever goes, they can network and get Robbie to sign up to ATD etc..

Likewise with the shirt... Raffle it amongs the contributers and let the winnner decide what to do with it. If I won, I would gladly put it up for auction with the proceeds going to whoever ATD decided was the most worthy.

Broadly agree with you there Ricks. Just one thing to be clarified is what PAFC deem to be the definition of a "cause". I think it's a great idea to give a free ticket to someone who's (ideally) contributed to the sponsorship, or failing that, are an active ATD'er.

I also wouldn't want to attend the free lunch, and would be happy for the shirt to go to an ATDer who really would want to keep it, or failing that auction it for a nominated charity.

Don't know what came over me Penz............ £50 too ffs ! I think I was probably suffering with some sort of post traumatic ATD election amnesia.

I don't want to go to the lunch. I don't want the shirt. I don't want Tribute in the Green Room. I don't want to meet Fat Robbie, let alone his name on the back of my shirt. I don't want to meet the rest of the sinister creeps at the back of the grandstand. I don't want to watch us play even if it is free. I don't want anything which links me with Plymouth Argyle until they are an altogether less embarrassing entity.

Won't be able to attend the lunch I'm afraid. Happy to go with the general consensus around the free tickets

Couldn't we auction all the prizes and donate the proceeds to James Brent to help him build a team we can all be proud of?

There were quite a few contibutors who haven't responded yet so one of them might want to go to the lunch, and again there are some people who would like the shirt, so take names who would like to be in the raffle for the shirt and who wouldn't.

I also sense we will have trouble giving away the free tickets (ala the Forest televised game a few years back). Any sane person would turn them down if they knew the type of on field dross likely to be served up

I don't think I can attend, I will have to look at work rotas and talk nicely to Mrs Mouldy if it is possible. I would prefer to go to the cherry tree before a game if I was down.

As for the tickets i happy with the St John's idea or St Lukes.

Couldn't we be a bit more imaginative with the tickets and shirt? Surely we could think of someone worthy of free Argyle tickets? People who volunteer their time to help out in a community somewhere in Plymouth? Young unemployed, disabled organisation? We could ask someone we don't like to present the tickets on our behalf then tell them to feck off on the day, everybody happy!
Seriously though there must be someone, what about sick children or better still carers?

Let's give the shirt to the boy scouts.

If it's an original they could use it as a 8 man tent.

For what it's worth, I went to the sponsors lunch 2 years ago, as the lucky winner of a seat at the pasoti table. It's a perfectly pleasant way of spending a few hours, the players were good company and the food wasn't bad (I was at a table with, amongst others, Carl Fletcher, Bondz N'Gala and Oni Bhasera).

Whoever gets the gig will have a good time - just check who's going from pasoti; if Tring and Newell are on the same table, I'd expect to see the seige and hostage situation unfold live on Sky News that afternoon.

Like most, I doubt I'll be able to go. Wouldn't mind the framed shirt for my office wall though

In the spirit of a new Pasoti, (not that they are on there now) why not invite IJN & CW?

Happy with that. As long as it is a good cause I'm easy with the tickets tbh.

That's the sort of thing I had in mind, I don't mind sorting it out if the powers hat be wish to delegate I have the time during the day.
