He did cricket as well.Jim Laker and Richie Benaud were the main commentators,with people like Denis Compton and Ted Dexter as the analysts,PW was the intro man.You could always tell when Denis Compton was starting to get a bit pissed after a luchtime session at the bar,he used to pronounce Alan Connolly as Anal Colony amongst ther malaprops.Peter West was a real establishment type,spoke BBC English,bit of a rugger man too,as i recall.Passed away a few years ago,they don't make them like him anymore.
