| Ever since they looked him in the eyes and he whispered what they wanted to hear, the chuckle brothers and their type have referred to their hero and fine gentleman with almost god like reverence.
It's never Jim or James or Brent, it has to be 'James Brent'. Back in the day it was Dan or McCauley or 666 and then it was Stapes but James Brent is clearly to be worshipped. It has caught on, as anyone who is anyone in the new Argyle world of boards, trusts, fests etc. would seemingly not dream of being so irreverent as to refer to the fine gentleman and bestower of silly hats n titles, as anything other than 'James Brent'.
So typically village. |

So typically village. Good point about the name.I've always felt that Jim Brent,as a name, would project a much more ruthless, macho and businesslike effect than James Brent. "Argyle owner Jim Brent said today.......",-mmm,quite like the sound of that. Jimmy Brent? Nah,a bit too twee and familiar.Jim for me every time.I mean, you can't imagine messrs Morrison,Furyk,Baxter or Clark going around calling themselves James, can you.And as for transmogrifying little Jimmy Osmond into little James Osmond.....God forbid. ATD poll is called for here, methinks. |

I am not analysing his name dear boy, merely the reverence in which he is held by his jamboys and the probable reasons why. Be careful you don't get an OCD where I am concerned. You wouldn't be alone though. It's probably in the genes. |
