| Pasoti used to be a pretty good site, but as a few others have said somewhere along with the machinations of the administration and Brent take-over the site became far less independent and far more ideologically driven (often in a deeply hypocritical way).
I was an occasional poster for probably 4 or 5 years. The various stuff that started happening, both on the site itself, and indirectly via the actions of people connected to the site, made me feel increasingly uncomfortable with using it. I didn't want to tacitly approve such actions by continuing to post on it. I didn't cyber-flounce or make a big deal about it, I just stopped posting and switched to using ATD. |

| Personally, my favourite Argyle website is Greensonscreen - that site is absolutely astonishingly good - it's the best football related site I've ever seen. It's a hell of an achievement.
This is a genuine question to all the anti-pasoti posters on here - would you really be happy if it all stopped? I get the feeling that all the intrigue and gossip and drama is actually something you all revel in - and I include those on the other side of the fence. It's fun isn't it? It's like the tabloid press when they get a sniff of a rumour or like an Eastenders love triangle. I find most of it quite funny (not the nasty stuff obviously). |

I don't think you'd get any disagreement from posters on either ATD or pasoti. The amount of information on GoS is astonishing, undoubtedly the best 'unnofficial' football club website for any team. |

And, by the way, I have just removed several posts on this thread as they didn't fit the new ATD marketing profile. |

| I do love Pasoti though. Not only do you get a free sticker if you're part of Forza Verde, but the sponsor also tells you what the percentage rate is for his loans.

I want it to devolutionise itself back into the forum it was 5-10 years ago, become more of a football fans forum, and reflect the mood of the fans, not the club. Nah, that's a lie, let it forever burn in hell. |

| I first came on here when I was getting dissatisfied with pasoti's 'matey-ness' and clear manipulations. Initially there was a BIG culture shock coming here. But I intended to post on both sites. I have described myself as somewhere between the two. But it didn't last.
After firstly using a different id on here, I decided to come out with the same name I had on pasoti. Fairly soon afterwards I found I couldn't log on to pasoti. The next bit is for hairy ....... in my view I posted in the same way on pasoti as on here, ie politely & calmly (some would say boringly). But I was still banned from pasoti. I suspect I was banned for two reasons: I posted on ATD; I asked (politely & calmly) too many questions that didn't toe the party line.
I think too often too many posters on here go too far. But that's life. I think some posters are boring. I think some on here are people I would move away from in a pub or even change pubs. Some people on here are entertaining. Some people on here have views I respect and I respect the way in which they express them. Some people on here have me laughing out loud. Some on here I would gladly spend an evening nattering with over a pint.
More than one person on here has said, in different ways, that the job of modding is relatively straightforward on here as the site is largely self-regulating. I have learnt that (mostly) to be true. That's good. If nothing else, that's one of the things that makes this site such a good place. The hardest part of the mod job has by far been the patrolling of the borders. There have been almost daily ass-holes who either have been stopped at the door or have needed watching.
If I could change one thing about ATD is what a number of other posters have referred to. It pisses me off the number of times that anyone daring to step away from the various "anti" lines gets jumped on. The name "nool's poodle" is attached to anyone who dares to say anything positive - about the club, about the manager, about Mr Newell or the owner. I am certain some people have been driven away. Is that any different from lots of the behaviour on pasoti that brought lots of us here? I don't think so.
As for pasoti.... I actually think on the odd occasions that I have looked recently it has improved. There is a bit more disagreement. The likes of hairy & X-isle have done a good job. But then you look at: the likes of the recent appearance of Saracen - who is so obviously on a mission; or the decision to take away the number of posts and the registration date from profiles and lo & behold a whole host of new faces spring up to laud the praises of the establishment figure that needs support; or the absolute refusal to do anything about the Deep Throat conspirators; or the shit thrown at the Trust. And I shan't even start on the more obnoxious behind the scenes games by the pasoteratti!

| Pasoti was great about five years ago but has gone down massively since then. Over moderation sucked the fun out of the place, humour seemed frowned upon and many interesting posters left. I read it often for Argyle news and the odd interesting thread but rarely feel inclined to post which is a massive shame as it used to be my first port of call on the internet. As Knecht has said above, to me, due to the likes of Deep Throat, the anti-Trust and the absolute mentalism of a few posters, it's lost all credibility for me.
Still unsure of this place. The threads are more interesting and juicy but the negativity and anti-Pasotiness is a bit too much for me to post often.
Still looking for my 'Pre-Todd' version of Pasoti.

| I am not a frequent poster on either....But I am a frequent reader of both.
Pasoti is far too up its own a*se with what its done.. when the majority have contributed to nout...
( Fair play to Nikkk I have nothing but respect for that man, the rest of them.... meh)
But ATD is to negative and anti-pasoti.. seems like all this site is aimed at is having a go at newell, Webb and any1 that has tried to do good! |

http://www.pasoti.co.uk/talk/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=71484 I'm glad this has been raised PP, it provides yet another opportunity to blow the growing in popularity ATD trumpet. If you're wanting to make comparisons, which is what I think your game plan is really all about, then here's mine. If "best" is judged on size then pasoti would win on the number of accounts it has, I should know, I have had about 10-20 long lost account on there over the years that would still be counted. Apart from that I'm not sure that pasoti has much to offer, hence the incredibly rapid growth rate of ATD, it's been a growth that has continued to rise despite the club continuing to under-perform. ATD is a site that has existed for just 17 months making it no more than a toddler compared to Pasoti, yet ATD has grown despite a decline in the clubs fortunes, an extremely rare and unusual occurrence indeed in football forum terms. So you have to ask what has made ATD so appealing? - I don't think that there is anything special about ATD, ATD's success has been at the expense of pasoti and I could make out a very long list of why but it would be far easier to simply say it's down to one thing, morals. People have seen through the unsavory tactics of one or two that have an interest in pasoti and have reached a conclusion that they want no part of it, it's that simple and I think that anyone with a moral understanding would have a similar opinion. I remember saying to Newell a couple of years ago in more-or-less words, that he either allows everyone an equal opinion or he will lose his, in less than 17 months the result of his actions are now clear to see. I have to say though that I thought it would take years and years for that to happen, I didn't dream it would happen in less than 17 months. As one popular pasoti user said recently, ATD was spawned because of the behavior of those connected with the running of pasoti and he was right, it doesn't take a genius to work out why ATD popularity continues to grow. I would add that I think it's a shame and a disgrace that ATD ever had a need to come into existence, but there was and certainly is a need for it to exist. So does this make pasoti the best football forum website? Of course it does, "they" need it to be. ATD doesn't need to be the best, but more importantly, ATD doesn't need to shout that it is! |

- You can post on pasoti and have an opposing view as long as you do it in a polite way - they'll allow that. There have been instances though where threads are moved to folders to make them disappear.
It's not the worst forum I've ever seen but it also isn't that good - they don't merge threads enough and page 1 of discussion has far too many sticky threads - they should give the Newell auctions it's own folder.
There's a load of posters that no longer post on there though and it's far more conservative than it used to be - ArgyleIve and his mates used to post on there in the good old days and they wouldn't last two minutes with the over moderation.
This one's OK but it is full of freaks and weirdos and Dane. i was on there for many years and they have NEVER allowed anymore one to speak against popular opinion regardless if its done rightly or wrongly. |

| It's true there is too much negativity and focus on Newell, Webb and Pasoti, but ATD is developing and acquiring it's own personality. Some will like it, some won't. Some have learned to block out the negativity and still be able to enjoy the banter and debate.
There are many more interesting characters on here than Pasoti in my opinion and the humour, though again not to everyone's taste, is far better than over the road, and sometimes it is because of the lack of humour on there which makes it easy for ATD to be funny.
You could say that Pasoti is the straight man who inadvertently creates the opportunities which are too hard to resist.
Pasoti could easily exist without ATD, but it would be much harder for this site to be able to keep churning out the jokes if Pasoti disappeared.
It's a bit like comparing Jim Bowen and Frankie Boyle as comedians. Jim Bowen's been around much longer and like OllieArgyle9 and Saracen10 finds everything super smashing great with Argyle at the moment, whereas Frankie Boyle and a few on here have been reveling in the Jimmy Saville saga as it's great material, but not everyone likes a vagina to be called a cnut. Especially when some on Pasoti think the 5 year olds should get to vote on the PASB.
I can't see these people being quite so keen on letting their children read both sites in order to help them make up their mind who they're going to vote for. It will more likely come down to which candidate supplies the best sweets, but that takes us back down the Jimmy Saville route again. |

| Almost without exception, the best football forums are those that replicate terrace humour. Raw, edgy, self-depricating at times. The best ones are those that push boundaries and sail close to the wind.
Pasoti is dull with a capital D. A sanitised wasteland where largely dull boring topics are discussed by dull boring people who'd probably blush and run a mile if Cheryl Cole pulled up, bent over and asked them to put it up her wrong'un. |

| I got banned for pointing out Newells bullying, probably about a dozen times or more, then having the audacity for kicking up about multi,s and publishing my details on the Internet and I think the final reason was when Newell asked me for a fight pointing out that I would definitely kick his fat arse. I then got banned for calling him fat, the post where he offered me out for a fight was removed, or cleaned up, as we're the posts where he was bullying posters. Whilst pasoti has Newell as owner there is no chance for the site. It is too corrupt, too up the clubs arse and much too sanitised. After my anti Newell rant I am now going to side with Knect and agree that this site is a little too inclined to jump on the happy clappy posters, this site is meant to be democratic and open and we should protect that. I know I am guilty of flashing the odd clown smiley around but that little emote speaks volumes about the whole atmosphere and feeling around HP and pasoti nowadays. Flaming trolls is fair in my mind as well. I think that the rivalry between the sites is good, I think that pasoti could end up as the major supporters site in the future once again, however whilst PL2faced and all the sycophants, muppets and puppets are holding the reins ATD will be getting bigger and better, I for one and proud to be one of the foot soldiers. |
