Think he was a good guy, always seemed a decent person in a dog eat dog business. Wonder what his thoughts were on the current Man City.

Could be a very outspoken character at times,he was in Manchester at the same time as Atkinson which was a media dream. His career never really kicked on from his days at Manchester City, where he seemed to be continuing a permanently upward curve but he had his successes and was always good value with his opinions on football.I seem to remember him being one of a lot of ex Hammers who joined Torquay in the late sixties/early seventies and made them into probably their most successful side ever. His son Kevin is still in football, not sure where he is now-Spurs? Anyway,RIP John.
