You can't polish shit A new man might be able to get this average team into an average mid-table position. |

- My point is. With this current group of players you could stick fergie in charge or Jose and I doubt they could do much better. There has to come a point when the players have to shoulder some responsibility.
They would get the best out of an average bunch of players....Fletcher has had 42 league games to prove that he has no idea how goals win matches....and working your socks off only leads to having to get them washed. |

| It's funny when you have the time to read through all of the different match reports, on here and on Pasoti, plus I listened to the game myself, and see who is blamed and who is highly rated!
Hourihane comes in for both as does Williams, with totally different views from one post to the next.
Wasn't there myself, but having had the time to read all of the reports and having listened to the entire game I would say that at least there were some more encouraging signs yesterday. Purse went off injured, and may have been carrying the injury into the game, and Nelson again filled in at full-back.
The general consesus is that Nelson has been shocking at full back so far, but Berry came on yesterday so hopefully not far from being fully fit.
We could be in a bit of trouble if Purse's injury is for any length of time, as other than Nelson and Richards, we don't have another CB, unless Wotton drops back, and I don't rate Wootton as much of a Centre-Back.
Hourihane either linked up well for the whole game, even if it was to Purse or Wotton who then chipped the ball forward and it gets lost, or he's too lightweight and hasn't got a clue so turns back all the time.
Young gets general praise, but Gurrieri again didn't do an awful lot.
We know Chadwick and Feeney aren't going to score many goals, but to me they don't create anything either. It's not as if they're going to suddenly click into life, they're declining and will get worse.
Griffiths hasn't had his chance yet so I'm still hopeful he will do a good job and win plenty of balls to knock down to PCH or Lecointe. What I don't think will work is Griffiths and either Feeney or Chadwick. They're not mobile enough to make use of anything Griffiths wins.
So in a way losing to Oxford by one goal isn't disastrous, many will lose by more, and it's a big improvement on last season's thrashing, but because of our poor start to the season we don't want to see the green shoots of recovery and keep having to take positives from defeats.
The squad have been together for quite a while now, except for a couple of new faces, but still play as though they have just met. Fletcher has his team now, he's had time to alter it and offload any shit, rather than give them another contract!
Away to Burnley is unrealistic, but it's a cup game so why not really go for it? No big deal if we lose, but the chance to make some money if we could somehow win, so we now have 6 days before entertaining Northampton, and this is the game where these promising signs have to be turned into points. We need goals. No point in playing this cagey game hoping to stifle Burnley and pick up any scraps, tell PCH and Gorman to strut their stuff, have licence to thrill, whatever, but don't play with 10 men behind the ball for the first 80 minutes and then try chasing 2 goals in a miracle finale. |

If the Clubs mess didn't come from them pray tell where it did come from dear boy . Wish you'd stop using my lines The same people who blindly supported, nay worshipped, the M7 and silenced dissenting voices and visionaries, like my good self, are now assisting a banker/property developer and the club is a complete shambles when it comes to its most important function ie football. History has the habit of repeating itself where self promoting dimwits are involved. |

| The problem is no one running the club or advising those that do who know anything at all about football. Let alone how a football club should be run. Which was why I posted about Michael dunford looking for a poxy retail job. if This man is available he should be in at argyle. Or is he too expensive ? |
