I don't really follow cricket - though I have watched some of Calstock's football matches.

But the last I heard the owner of the land where the cricket is currently played wants it back. They were appealing for somewhere else to play.

I heard that, too.I actually played in the first match ever to be staged at their current ground [Butts Meadow?] in about 1987-it was Calstock v a team selected from local players and some dignitaries with a cricket interest-i opened the batting with Robert Hicks MP-poor chap had his off stump knocked out first ball.Stewart Storey,ex Surrey and Sussex was instrumental in setting up the new ground-even at that stage he was still a mighty fine cricketer,i think he still lives in Calstock. They used to play on the football field when i first started playing and, believe me,batting on that pitch could be an interesting experience,to say the least. Not sure where they could go if they were kicked out of their present ground,i hope they don't fold though-this fate has been all too common in local cricket in the past 15 years or so.

That's it really, what are the chances of it happening - it's possible looking at the table. affraid

Every chance, I would think. Bottom of the entire football league, 3 games, 1 point, no goals. We have been saved though, so that's ok.

On the other hand we could go to Oxford and win.

But we won't.

Does anyone remember when we used to play away, and we expected to win? Holloway's side was the last time for me. I really don't expect us to win anything at the moment, home or away.

Ho hum.

On Betfair £50 on Oxford to win will give you a healthy £37.50 profit.

Who is in? Who is confident that Argyle are shit? I saw them 3 days ago, they are that shit

affraid

Already done Nick, but handicap betting, have still gone for Oxford at 15/8 minus 1 goal. I hope I'm wrong but I have insider knowledge that we're far worse than your average Joe would imagine, and betting odds haven't yet caught up with how shite we are.

Me to GJ. Did the same last year. I'm working on the premis that we won't score and then judging how good the other team are.

Aldershot - Backed both teams NOT to score at 10/11 - WON
D&R - Went UNDER 2.5 Goals - WON
Oxford - Happy to go with a Home win - ???

Got a day pass to go with my son to Oxford. A couple of hours drive but travelling more in hope than anything else. Would be typical Argyle to get an unexpected away win.

If we are bottom tonight then we should change the ATD tag line from 'Wet with anticipation for the new season. (Thank you)' to...

'strongest team in the league - we're holding the rest up!'

Our wetness with anticipation has dried up somewhat.
