Plymouth Girl Done Good

Rita Mielutye from Lithuania who lives and trains in Plymouth with John Rudd sets European record in 100 break stroke.

She was shocked after the heats this morning when she set the fastest time for this year. Now the European record. Not bad for a 15 year old.

You could hear the suspicion in Sharron Davies' voice though. "Where did you get that improvement from"

I hope it's not another Michelle Smith/De Bruin situation, although this girl is only 15 whereas Michelle Smith was late twenties when she suddenly improved out of all recognition, coached by her husband who had been banned from Athletics for drug offences, and she also later failed drugs tests.
