| Looks like the pasoti rumour mill was correct as Argyle sign the pacy striker from Woking for a small compensation fee (as he's 21). He scored 17 in 42 games (8 as sub) in the Conference South last season, helping Woking to top spot. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - Quote :
- STRIKER Paris Cowan-Hall has become Plymouth Argyle manager Carl Fletcher's first new signing of the summer.
The 21-year-old, who can also play as a winger, is arriving at Home Park from Conference South champions Woking.
Cowan-Hall has passed a medical but will not officially complete his move to the Pilgrims until July 1.
He was out of contract at Woking, but because of his young age and the fact he rejected a new deal to stay there, Argyle have had to agree a compensation fee for him with the Surrey outfit.
As per club policy, the Pilgrims are not disclosing the length of contract Cowan-Hall has signed for them.
Woking snapped up the striker in August 2011, after he was released by Scunthorpe United at the end of the previous season.
Cowan-Hall had trials with Gillingham and Newport County before ending up at Woking, and it proved to be a successful move for both parties.
Woking, whose first team coach is Plymouth-born former Yeovil Town manager Steve Thompson, finished top of Conference South by nine points from runners-up Dartford.
And Cowan-Hall finished as the second top scorer for the Cards, with 17 goals from 34 starts and eight substitute appearances.
He signed for Portsmouth in 2007, having had trials with Chelsea and Manchester United at the age of 16.
Cowan-Hall moved on loan to Grimsby Town in January 2010 and made his debut as a late substitute in a 1-1 draw at home to Bury in League Two.
However, his stay at Blundell Park was short-lived because of a bout of glandular fever.
Cowan-Hall later re-signed for Grimsby with the intention of staying until the end of the 2009/10 season, but suffered a hamstring injury after making only two more substitute appearances for the Mariners.
He was released by Portsmouth that summer, having not played at first team level for them, and eventually signed for Scunthorpe on non-contract terms in October 2010.
Cowan-Hall made only one appearance for the Iron, as a substitute in a 2-1 home defeat by Watford in the Championship in January 2011.
The following month he started a short loan spell at Rushden and Diamonds, for whom he had played at youth team level.
The signing of Cowan-Hall takes the size of Argyle's squad to 21 players, which includes five first-year professionals.
Out-of-contract full-backs Durrell Berry and Robbie Williams have also been offered new deals by the Pilgrims.
ARGYLE memberships for 2012/13 are continuing to prove popular with the Green Army.
Existing season ticket holders have until Thursday to reclaim their 2011/12 seat. From June 1, unclaimed seats will go on general sale.
Contact the Argyle box office (telephone 0845 872 3335) for further information. |

| Official site also confirms and states that he scored 11 in 27 (League games). [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| He must have looked quite a prospect as a lad looking at the clubs he has been associated with. He's also still young enough for this to be a good signing who hasn't realised his potential yet.
Still not getting too excited but I'm not complaining about this signing. Lets hope he's hungry to prove himself and at least he's pacy unlike Feeney and Chadwick. |

| Lets hope he turns out like the last striker with a double barreled name we signed, Ebanks-Blake |

| Do we actually have a scouting network left or is it volunteers only now? I seem to recall a seemingly fairly astute chap on Pasoti who did a lot of Woking watching and was pushing him a good while ago.
Best of luck to the lad. |

| Good luck to the guy, let's hope he's more of a Noone than a Donnelly. |

| Let's hope that coming from the Conference South he can cope with the heady heights of L2 and still find the net rather than row Q.
Let's also hope that he's not injury prone. We've already got one of those. |

| Well, he's cheap which is really all that matters to brent. Been around a lot for a 21 year old but never achieved anything at all at League level. Still, even if he's no good he's still got to be better than the useless Feeney and permanently crocked chadwick. Bottom of L2 for the long haul |

| All the best to him. Some of our best ever strikers have been signed from non league,Mariner,Marshall,Bickle, lets hope he can continue that success.Alaways a gamble signing players from two divisions below but fingers crossed that this one pays off. |

| I realised I've actually seen him play this past season for Woking in a Conference South game. I can't remember anything about him. Sorry for this slightly unhelpful and non insightful analysis.
Conference South is a fairly pedestrian league though. Looks like he has had one good season after struggling everywhere else he's been. Heres hoping he maintain that good form for us. |

and thats the crux of the matter,Gillingham and Newport both turned him down,so its a gamble if he can step up to league football with the same success. |

| Does anyone else really like the way Carl Fletcher does his business with regards to signing players?
I like the way he looks deeply into their backgroup, personality, dressing room manners etc to make sure they add to what we are trying to build rather than spoil it.
It's so great to see Argyle signing young hungry talent to go with the experience that we have. Hopefully we can get the out of contract players agreed asap then build from there over the summer. Berry would be a massive coup as he's excelled over the 2nd part of the season. |

Is Mock a multi user? I would like this rumour to be debated on the Mod boards... |

| I am very confident about this signing, I mean he has one of those goal scoring eyebrow styles that most Chelsea players wear, so he must be good. |

| All I can gather is that his only full season was the last season. Raw might best describe him, but if he can hit the target then he's already significantly better then the rest of our strikers. Hoping he's more Dwight Marshall then Padi Wilson. Although the cynic in me thinks that we'll just end up shoving him on the wing. |

| Can see we are aiming high with our significant league 2 playing budget, by signing players from Woking!. Hey ho it might work out, unfortunately I think we can all remember the goal scoring prowess of a certain Rory Paterson. |

| Good strikers come in pairs, now if Argyle were to sign a decent striker that maybe somebody has heard of to play alongside this paris guy, did somebody whisper izzy whizzy, then I could get mildly excited,Feeney and Chadwick and Le Cointe had their chance last season and delivered sweet FA. |
