| Although I don't think CF has hung up his boots can anybody remember a really successful player/manager in recent times. I cannot think of one that springs easily to mind although I guess Shilton was moderately successful. It was when he hung his boots up that it all went wrong. |

| Until last season... Paul Tisdale hasn't done a bad job taking a village team, from conferance, to 8th in league 1 Perhaps like shilts it will hit the fan once the boots were hung up, the writing is certainly on the wall, see last seasons efforts |

| Hoddle at Swindon did a good job as did Vialli at Chelsea. |
