The February nominations for the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month Award are:
Derek Adams (Plymouth Argyle)
What began as a climb away from the foot of the table in December has blossomed into a full-on tilt at promotion. He has maintained his side’s focus superbly, guiding them to five wins out of five with Blackburn and Shrewsbury among their victims.
Tony Mowbray (Blackburn Rovers)
A busy month in which his entertaining side opened up a four-point lead at the top of League One with four victories and a draw from their six matches.
Chris Powell (Southend United)
Made an instant and positive impact at Roots Hall in his first month in the job. Ten points from a possible 12, only two goals conceded and his new team have been unleashed going forward as they climbed into mid-table.
Paul Warne (Rotherham United)
December’s winner was at it again in February as his registered a perfect month winning all five matches. Most impressive of all, he has had to re-shape his side’s style following the loss of on-loan goal machine Kieffer Moore.
The winner will be announced on Friday 9th March.
The February nominations for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Award are:
Adam Armstrong (Blackburn Rovers)
Brought pace and directness to the Rovers attack with four goals and an assist – all in the month in which he turned 21. A perfect foil for Danny Graham, he demonstrated the confidence of youth with two cool finishes at Portsmouth.
Jason Demetriou (Southend United)
Three goals from right-back as well as two clean sheets in four games. And what goals, too. A penalty winner at Peterborough, then a rasping drive on a forward foray and a lung-bursting late run and firm finish against Portsmouth.
Ruben Lameiras (Plymouth Argyle)
His form this season has mirrored that of his team. Out of form and favour, the Portuguese playmaker came back into the side just before Christmas and has been brilliant since. He scored two goals and made two more in the month.
Joe Newell (Rotherham United)
Newell's impact was huge in February with two goals and three assists. Always willing to use his trickery to skip past defenders, and possesses the vision and technique to pick out teammates in space.
The winner will be announced on Friday 9th March.
