Roy Hodgson = Descendant of Wellington himself.

| You've got to hold and give But do it at the right time You can be slow or fast But you must get to the line
They'll always hit you and hurt you Defend and attack There's only one way to beat them Get round the back
Catch me if you can 'Cause I'm the England man And what you're looking at Is the master plan
We ain't no hooligans This ain't a football song Three lions on my chest I know we can't go wrong
We're playing for England {In-ger-land} We're playing the song We're singing for England {In-ger-land} Arrivederci its one on one |

| I'd have loved a Pep, or a Jose. I'd have been happy with a 'Arry. Guess we'll have to make do with a Woy. |

| I will as always really enjoy the Euro's as I do the World Cup, there is a routine that I follow which helps to this aim. Don't read the papers they are full of shite, don't listen to Linekar and Crooks they also talk shite. Don't expect to get as far as the last 16, then when we get to the last 8 or 4 you can party like it's 1999! Pubs and football it's what living is really all about. |

| It's all so predictable though.
A few years back when Engerland went out on penalties on a Saturday afternoon, I couldn't bear to watch. I sat beneath the trees at Tring Park cricket club watching the first team in action, enjoying a picnic basket full of tasty morsels, consuming red wine in full measure and putting the world to right with a few other sages, from the comfort of our deck chairs.
We observed the Engerland faithful trooping towards the bar [occasionally letting rip with a chant or two] where the match was to be watched on the big screen. Faces painted and bodies draped in St George's crosses, I winced at their collective excitement and optimism. I had seen it all before, many times and anyway, this latest manager hadn't uttered the immortal Alf Ramsey words of, 'We will win the World Cup'.
When the match went to penalties we put on a car radio and to my great delight, realised that the radio commentary was a few seconds ahead of the tv pictures in the clubhouse.
As each penalty was taken, we old gits knew in advance whether there would be a roar of unbridled approval or a groan of dismay. It was as if time stood still. Then they emerged from the building, bedraggled and depressed, heading off home to kick the cat.
We, who had seen it all before, gave eachother a knowing look, opened another bottle of red and got back to the cricket. |

Quarter final again,i expect, knocked out on penalties.Maybe if World cup Willie was exhumed......... Oh er missus! Usual stuff from England, technically and physically outclassed and found wanting in temperament as well.Hodgson must take some blame,Young should not have been on the pitch after half time let alone be taking a penalty,he was fecking awful from start to finish.Justice was done in the end,England's limitations sadly exposed and the barren talent pool for top level players revealed in all its harsh reality. |

| Just seeing Italy's control on the ball and movement makes you realise the gulf in class. England battle and scrap, but it could have been a two or three goal win if Italy could finish. |
