Not quite as big a spectacle as THE Grand National, but today is the Scottish Grand National at Ayr 3.25.

Sir Alex Ferguson's horse, Harry the Viking will probably go off favourite, but the one I really fancy is Merigo, which is currently 7-1. It was second in the race last year and won it two years ago. The horse is in really good form and is a course specialist. I reckon it's better value than HTV, who I also think will run a big race, along with Irokdu Road.

For a really big payout, it might be worth trying these 3 in combination forcasts and a tricast.

And Merigo wins at 15-2. Lovely £292 win for me. Harry the Viking, owned by SAF nowhere. Aw don't worry Dane there are other days Laughing
