I doubt I'll ever see top flight football at Home Park meaning that my old fella and born Manc and Man U fan....God bless him...will have won his bet and I'm sure that when he greets me at those pearly gates he'll be taking the pish about it.
But so what, how many times have Man U won the Devon Bowl, eh? And he never experienced the quarter final of the Watney Cup either!
I remember the BBC MOTD commentator describing us as "the most understanding fans in the country" during a cup match against Everton (I think!), he was right! Arguably off-thread, but the glorious Barry Davies commentary of the Derby County home game remains more vivid for me....
"What a day for the wearing of the Green" & "Oh, what an opportunity spurned!"....
Still got it on Betamax somewhere...... Don't forget "Umbrella Lil"! |

| I always remember, with some amusement,Vi coming on the David Bassett show on Plymouth Sound and slagging Mike Kelly off after Waiters got the sack-i don't think Mike gave her as much attention and leeway as Tony did.She was certainly a character, probably of a type that won't be seen again at Home Park. |

| I'm getting bored with all these fans wars and the latest battle of the boards or the latest war cry from El Presidente or what the fat ugly bloke has or has'nt done. Will be going tomorrow with only an interest in eleven players in green shirts trying to secure a win and league survival.Eleven players wearing green shirts and 125 years of footballing history-this is all that matters. |

| All that really matters is "results".
Popularity is proportional to success.
The "superfans", "manager", "chairman" etc will all be judged on results.
