Tottenham young  Alfie Devine, Ashley Phillips are part of a trio to head out on loan this season

Tottenham plan to loan Devine, Phillips, Donley before transfer window closes

Tottenham Hotspur are not done in the transfer window, and especially with their outgoings, according to a new article in the Evening Standard by Dan Kilpatrick. According to the report, Spurs still plan on loaning out a trio of young players on the fringes of the first team squad — utility player Jamie Donley, attacking midfielder Alfie Devine, and central defender Ashley Phillips are all set to depart the club on loan for the season.

All of this makes sense. Phillips and Devine are both coming off of excellent loans last season at Plymouth Argyle (with Phillips named Plymouth’s Young Player of the Season) and are set for a step up in competition. Jamie Donley has yet to have his first loan, and while he’s been a forward at the youth level he filled in capably as a left back for Ange Postecoglou during preseason and is ready to get substantial first team minutes elsewhere. All three are considered important players for the future at Tottenham, but are not quite ready to crack the first team yet.

Not too excited about that unless they've improved since last seasons mediocrity.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ashley Phillips has been linked with a move away from the club, and La Liga side Getafe are keen on him.

According to an update on Sky Sports, La Liga outfit Getafe are plotting a raid on Tottenham for 19-year-old highly-rated defender Ashley Phillips, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

Tottenham are prepared to send the player out on loan this summer, and he could be a useful acquisition for Getafe. Joining the La Liga club would be ideal for the player as well. He needs ample first-team exposure at this stage of his career.

Rooney has also confirmed Argyle are in 'advanced talks' over signing a couple more players for his squad.

Cissoko looks the best signing. Very impressed when he came on against Cheltenham. Changed the game. Not seen enough of Szucs yet. Ogbeta, Palsson and Tijani not so good.

Stoke City are believed to be in negotiations with Tottenham over a potential loan deal for 19-year-old defender, Ashely Phillips who starred on loan at Plymouth Argyle last season.

Phillips’ omission from Postecoglou’s squad to face Leicester was telling and does suggest that the 19-year-old may require a temporary move away from the club in order to build upon the promising half-a season that he had at Plymouth Argyle.
