Southamton Manager

Russell Martin: "They'll be disappointed to lose Steven [Schumacher] but they have a group of players that have been together for quite a while and they will rally around, and they are rallying around, each other.

"They work extremely hard, they're very good as we saw earlier on in the season, so it'll be a tough game and we have to make sure we bring the energy and aggression we did in the second half [against Swansea].

"We need to follow that performance up now if we're really serious about what we want to do, we need to back this up. It's going to be good, I'm excited."

The Capacity is 32,384 at St Mary's and the tickets is sold out for home and away supporters.

Generously optimistic. Club record defeat tonight, Dewsnip picks up towel from physio and throws it onto the pitch after 80 minutes to save further punishment.

Was going to post the same thing (but with 'cheap suit' rather than 'rash')!

Got get a hold of the game, could be a cricket score if they get one soon.

Saints 82% possession FFS! Must be a Championship record. We don't really belong in this division.

can we all agree now that Ben Waine is not good enough to be a striker in the championship.... Maybe one day he maybe if he hits the gym somewhat and stops falling over when a defender is near him but until then Hardie is fit, Bundu is on the bench we should be starting with one of them now and making it a priority to sign a striker next month.

As for the game we are getting anihilated all over the place by Southampton how are they not in the lead!!!! with we take a point let alone a clean sheet away from St Mary's tonight that would be as good as a win in my eyes and the defenders deserve a new years eve drink or 3 for their efforts.

Agreed. We need a striker in January and Waine needs to go out on loan

Can't disagree with that ... but in reality it is men against boys club wise, didn't they receive close to 200 mill in transfer fees during the summer on top of all their prem money, we truly are punching above our weight against most of these clubs.

Waine is off Hardie is on

not expecting him to do much better to be fair but i think he would be more useful up front than waine is.

That's what we have to expect when playing the 'big' teams.  Tight calls will always go their way.  But this won't affect the result.  Even it was given Saints are still going to win regardless.
