Albion Meeting Update
28th March 2012
news
On 20 March Dr Graham Stirling told a packed open meeting that the club had staved off the threat of liquidation that could have seen Albion fall out of the National League structure.
Since issuing a rallying call on 4 January, the club has raised £200,200 to ensure its survival into the 2012/13 season.
"To reach over £200,000 of pledges, against our target of £250,000, in just ten weeks is a magnificent achievement. It is quite remarkable and we must express our thanks to everyone who has helped the club. The backing from the supporters, suppliers, the people of Plymouth and the rugby community has been quite magnificent and outstanding"
He told the supporters the club had £163,000 "in its hands" with £37,000 pledged to be received in stages by the end of June. However, he stressed the need not to let up, the balance of the funds were still required. " What we need to do now is raise the rest of the balance of money, £49,000, so we have the working capital to take us to the end of June and put us on a stronger footing for the future"
