Massive blow to loose him for that long even if Mayor is returning to fitness and we managed to score 4 still last night.
League One leaders Plymouth Argyle dealt major injury blow over talented midfielder
From Link wrote:
Finn Azaz is set to miss 10 to 12 weeks of Plymouth Argyle's League One promotion push because of a serious injury to his right ankle.
Pilgrims' boss Steven Schumacher admitted the lengthy absence of Aston Villa loan signing Azaz was a blow but he believes there is still enough quality in his squad to compensate for that.
Argyle opened up a four-point lead over second-placed Ipswich Town at the top of League One after their 4-2 Devon derby victory over Exeter City at a sold-out Home Park on Monday night.
Azaz missed out on the match after he was injured by a tackle from an opposing player during the 2-1 home win against Shrewsbury Town last Tuesday.
The 22-year-old has been a star performer for Argyle at the start of this season, with six goals and three assists from a total of 13 starts and five substitute appearances.
Schumacher gave an update on Azaz after the victory over Exeter, as well as on the recoveries of Danny Mayor and Mickel Miller from calf and thigh injuries.
On Azaz, the Argyle manager said: "It's quite a serious ankle injury. He's going to be missing for a good while - 10 to 12 weeks maybe.
"There is ligament damage and a fracture in his ankle. It's a big blow, but Danny isn't too far away - two, three weeks away - and Mickel Miller the same - three weeks away, maybe four.
"He's obviously going to take a bit of time to get going because he hasn't played this season, but we need them back."
Azaz had hit top form in October, scoring twice in the 4-1 win away to MK Dons and coming up with a spectacular goal-of-the-season contender when the Pilgrims drew 2-2 at Bristol Rovers.
His form for Argyle at the start of the season also led to a first international call-up for Azaz, who played for the Republic of Ireland under-21s in a European Championship play-off away to Israel.
Niall Ennis took over the 'number 10' role vacated by Azaz against Exeter and that could become a regular position for him going forward.
Schumacher said: "We didn't have him (against Exeter) and we have managed to score four goals. It's a blow but with the players we have got we feel as though they can keep producing performances.
"We might have to tweak things slightly but we will figure it out and find a way. Finn is gutted, I spoke to him (on Sunday), he was going in to Aston Villa to see their specialist.
"His scan was going to the surgeon (on Monday) to see if he needs operating on or not. Nick (Fulton, Argyle's head physio) might know more than me right now."
The timeframe for Azaz's absence means that he could be out of action for the promotion-chasing Pilgrims until late January.
A successful return to fitness of Mayor in the near future, though, would be a big help for Argyle, especially as he is ideally suited to playing that same 'number 10' position as Azaz.

And Im a twat for suggesting we shouldn't be selling our better players? This is a massive blow to us takes us to mid January or early February without arguably our best player. Even more important to start looking for January targets and look to actually sign someone instead of talking about it.

The loan is over then, as he will go back to Villa. This is where our season starts to crumble away to nothing - again. Oh well, maybe next season.

even more reason why we need to strengthen in january regardless to how we are going in the league and how well we are playing as we are getting by atm with one or two injuries/suspensions but we wont cope too much longer once they start to pile up and all the other teams around us will be strengthening so should we its not a case of one in one out anymore.
Azaz is a fantastic player we are going to feel his absence. With the other article Errington wrote today regarding Mumba catching the attention of his manager at Norwich im worried we will be losing him.

Shorely a three month loan to cover Azaz will be priority? Mayor nearly fit isn't going to cut it.

Being injured will stop anyone else trying to grab him in January.
As for harming our chances of promotion we are in a position where 49 points from 39 games will see us get automatic promotion.

Norwich very likely to recall Mumba in January as well by the sounds of it. We simply haven't got the set up for promotion.

Bollox lets get some shit straight here, my main "crime" was daring to deviate from the ATD lovefest directed towards Sigh and the gang when they decided to sell Pan despite not needing the money. It is obvious that we didn't need the money as we get very transparent accounts these days so that is a fact. I know the ATD line on Pan and that has been done to death and I won't go into it again now. Apart from that I have pointed out that we will never get out of this league without a bigger squad and not only bigger but with more quality in it so that we don't bomb in the league like we did last season when we picked up only three injuries to key players. That scenario is being played it out right now with Azaz injured and our loan quota being filled up. If Mumba gets recalled in January then we will be fooked right properly. This is what happens when you have a great team but no depth in the squad and I was pointing this out in August, it's called realism not negativity. I know lots of you would like to paint me as another Freathy but I am not and what I had said is coming true, I would love to be wrong, I hope we don't have any more injuries, Mumba stays and maybe Mayor will step up and fill Azazs boots but as I've said before there are no prizes for being top in October. If you want negativity go to Freathy if you want realism then I am here all the time.

Yet to make a league appearance for Ipswich. Wasn't even on the bench against Charlton.

But the season is only a third of the way through. Ipswich also bought that other player we didn't want called Freddy Ladapo he like Pan could be scoring goals and indeed against us for many years to come yet. Wouldn't it be embarrassing if we were put out of promotion by Pan when we play them again later in the year?

Feck me Ears, let it go.
The reason Azaz is here is because Camara and his agent wanted out. Azaz replaced Camara.
Camara was (very evidently) badly injured. That was in July. It’s now November.
It’s literally impossible when Azaz is signed to legislate for his current injury.
With all that in mind, would fans rather have….
Camara for a season and no money. Or, Azaz for a season and half a million quid?

i wouldnt disagree with what you said except to say i dont feel Azaz was brought in to replace Camara, if anything i would say Butcher was given how we are lining up now compare to last season. We are short on options in the middle so i wouldnt be supprised if another central midfielder is signed in jan. Azaz wont be going back to Villa and all going to plan he will be back just as we are approaching the buisness side of the season to which hopefully we are still in the automatic promotion push.

I will let it go but not when I get mentioned in posts, I will reply if that's ok with you? As for your question we could have afforded to have Camara and Azaz like a team like Ipswich, Wednesday or Pompey would have and with £6.8m in the bank we could clearly afford it and that's why you need a squad because players regularly get injured just like last season when we missed the playoffs, do you not remember that? . Pointing that out doesn't make me Freathy. Why are you all so afraid of competing on a level playing field?

Freathy and Ears are different. Freathy gets a hard on thinking about Argyle failing whereas Ears gets a hard on thinking about Pan.

The only bit I would disagree with is the rewrite of history that claims Pan didn't want to be here now, he was under contract until the end of this season.

Ears simply refuses to accept what Schumacher said about Camara having his head turned by his agent, because it rubbishes the mantra that Hallett couldn’t wait to get rid of him.
If hard facts spoken by the manager are being ignored in favour of uninformed opinion, then it’s pointless carrying on the debate.

Furthermore if Hallett had really sold a player from under the nose of Schuey, thats pretty much a resignation issue.
Regardless Hallett himself often makes it quite clear that a budget is set by Parkinson, Dewsnip and himself and it is up to Schuey how that budget is used.
There is absolutely feck all to suggest otherwise.
