| Plymouth Argyle Go In With Enquiry For Birmingham City Star
Plymouth Argyle are testing the water for Birmingham City hitman Sam Cosgrove as they eye a late attacking reinforcement,
The League One side are keen to add extra firepower to the ranks ahead of the transfer window slamming shut and see Cosgrove as an option.
The former Aberdeen striker has struggled to make his mark at Birmingham and may be happy to head to Plymouth in a bid to get his career back on track.
Plymouth have now gone in to Birmingham with an enquiry about Cosgrove as they probe a potential deal.
It remains to be seen what terms Blues would be looking for in order to let the 25-year-old move to the south coast before the window closes. Cosgrove has had loan stints away from Birmingham, at Shrewsbury Town and AFC Wimbledon, and knows League One.
Plymouth sit in fifth spot in League One following six games and are hoping to put together a promotion tilt.
They are in action in the EFL Trophy this evening, at home to Bristol Rovers, while their next league assignment comes at Derby County and it remains to be seen if they can call upon Cosgrove at Pride Park. |

| looking at his record only time he had a purple patch for goals was at Aberdeen 79 games 31 goals. Since then 46 games for 3 clubs and 3 goals.
Never seen him play and if i have i dont recall it so i will look at this move with open eyes if he does indeed come here. |

This one is 6,4" and offers something we don't currently have and could probably do with as we were hitting a lot of high balss to Niall ENnis on Saturday, which worked to an extent as we scored but more often than not it didn't. Just wondering if we ought to be setting ur sights higher... |

| Cosgrove was a youth player at Everton when Dewsnip was a youth coach.
Perhaps that's why Argyle are interested. |

Yet Jeppers has not been scoring because he's hardly seen the ball in a dangerous area, if we have changed our style of play it could suit him although tbf he does like balls to his feet, I just don't think this lad looks productive enough. I am glad that schuey is prepared to change the style up a bit. |

Good we've got the most predictable response out of the way Anyway to help you out, he had a decent spell at Aberdeen so he clearly has the potential to hit a barn door , then went for Birmingham for decent money but the manager who signed him was sacked and he lost his way. He played against us last season and looked usefulish albeit in a team that given up the Ghost. We don't have anyone that play with their back to goal so this might make sense. |

| 12 hours to go till the window shuts.
Having thought about it him or another striker signing should we go for it today wouldn't necessarily mean Jephcott will be moved on. Whittaker is being used as a backup/competition for Mayor and Azaz mostly so we do have room for another striker |

We don't have anyone that play with their back to goal so this might make sense. What standard of football do they play at Aberdeen vs League 1? Not comparable I would say. His most recent history says he scored three goals in a seasons worth of matches, data anylitics tells me he ain't that good and we may as well stick with Jeppers. |

Jeppers is no target man he can't hold the ball up to save his life, it was interesting when he did get a game in was in the Azaz role off Niall Ennis rahter than the top of the tree. Schuey clearly not a fan, when he starts he's almost always first sub. Probably won't be here next season. |

| Jephcott had one purple patch. Apart from that, he looks every bit a Conference League level player. If he’s going out and Cosgrove is the replacement, at least he gives us a totally different option in the way we play. Can’t see him dislodging Hardie or Ennis in any single striker role, but he obviously has ability to score those goals in the Jock Premier League. Hopefully he can do a job for us. |

I think that’s a touch harsh, he is an instinctive goal scorer he had that in his locker. Look at his goal against Doncaster last season where he’d gambled front post and smashed it in, but there’s not much else to his game he doesn’t hold the ball up and he is slow as feck. Like you say Cosgrove offers something else and perhaps in a better team he might come good again |
