| Yeovil Town Previews Plymouth Argyle Game Yeovil Town’s pre-season preparations ramp up with a clash against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
After back-to-back draws but positive showings, Chris Hargreaves is on the hunt for his first win at the helm.
The Pilgrims, who narrowly missed out on the League One play-offs last season, will be the Glovers’ most stern test of the pre-season campaign so far.
Chris Hargreaves’ thoughts
Speaking ahead of the fixture, the boss said; “(They’re) a very good side. I watched them against Torquay on Tuesday evening, they managed to come out 5-0 winners. Both teams were good sides, but Plymouth were strong.
“They’re still bedding players in and wanting to recruit more, but they’re a good side and football club so it’s a good test for us.
“That’s where this Club wants to be, there’s no hiding away from it. The fans want to see us back in those leagues and so do we.”
Team news
Charlie Wakefield and Ollie Hulbert both made a welcome return against Exeter City, whilst Lawson D’Ath remained sidelined. He’s on the road to recovery and will be back in the match day squad soon.
A foot in the opposition camp
After the Pilgrims fell just short of their promotion aspirations last season, Steve Schumacher and his side will be gearing up for another push next season.
The star man for the Devon outfit is Mike Cooper. The youngster between the sticks has attracted a lot of attention from league’s above after making the no.1 shirt his own at just 22-years-old.
Also within the Plymouth camp is a man who needs no introduction to Yeovil fans, Joe Edwards. The Plymouth skipper was a member of Yeovil Town’s 12/13 promotion winning side and now stars in a versatile role at Home Park.
Have we met before?
Meetings with Plymouth date back to 1928, as the Glovers lost 4-1 in an FA Cup clash. The next meeting came in 1972 in FA Cup action once again, with Plymouth the victors that afternoon.
The two sides did not meet again in competitive action until 2004, and Yeovil faired much better, beating the Pilgrims 3-2 in the League Cup thanks to a hat trick from Lee Johnson.
Most recently, the two sides met in the EFL Trophy in 2017, goals from Sam Surridge and Tom James proved the difference with Yeovil winning 2-1 at Huish Park.
Shirt news
For this weekend’s game, our brand new away strip will be worn due to Plymouth only having green shirts available to use at this time.
Tickets
Tickets are available online until midday on match day and in person from the club ticket office until kick off.

| Yeovil had a shot on goal from far out went wide.
Edwards playing LWB might have let law go out on loan week too early.
He's cutting on to his right foot we aren't getting much in from the left.
Hardies just had a shot saved.
Break in play while a Yeovil players down.
0-0 |

| Yeovil pushing forward a bit more.
We have a lot of the ball can't break them down and we don't seem to have a plan to do so.
Hardies all on his own with little support.
Watching Butcher seems to be quietly getting on with things sure there will be more to come from him.
Struggling to break them down still corner to Argyle 25 mins played.
Falls to scarr back post blocked |

| Couple of shots saved best chances we've had so far.
Worrying we have the possession down just can't finish it.
Very frustrating to watch
Mumba and Edwards have now switched flanks |

| HT:idea: 0-0 Lots of the ball no clue how to convert it.
Same old argyle. Apart from that not bad but Yeovil haven't pressured us.

| I'm not sure this one up front packing the midfield formation works that well.
It might frustrate the other team.
But also us because we don't have anyone in the team you would call a lone striker. Hopefully we swap to the 3-5-2 after the break.
Not sure who you bring on.
We know Jephcott Hardie is a proven thing.
We have the other two semi square pegs of whitiker and Ennis to factor in.
Hopefully a fully fit Ennis can form a partnership with Hardie or Jephcott. |

| 69' Double red card. Mumba for Argyle and Worthington for Yeovil. Altercation with some punches seemingly thrown, then virtually all players and benches getting involved to separate. |
