ITV commentary team for Sheffield Wednesday vs Plymouth Argyle confirmed

Ian Hollowords will be part of the ITV team for their live coverage of Plymouth Argyle's FA Cup first round clash away to Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

The former Pilgrims' boss will be one of the pundits on the broadcast, which starts at 11.30am ahead of the 12.15pm kick-off at Hillsborough.

Analysis will also come from Chris Waddle, the ex-England international who played for Sheffield Wednesday during his successful career.



Mark Pougatch will host the show while match commentary will come from Sam Matterface and former England and Arsenal defender Lee Dixon.

Matterface is a shit commentator so they are keeping their usual low standards.

Matterface and Dixon do the England games, so pretty much their top team, although quite a low bar to be honest.

Having said that, Lee Dixon isn't too bad, he comes across as someone who knows what he's talking about.

Get your facts right. Holloway was lied to by Stapleton about money. He didn't trust the board motives - which, as it turned out, proved to be not in the interests of the club. Holloway had no choice other than to leave, although he has said since then he regretted the way he did it.

Stapes wasn't talking about promotion like we all thought, he was talking about breaking the record for transfer income.

I'm over Holloway now as are most football fans and employers of football managers. Good lesson for Lowe right there. The grass isn't always greener.

The crap about bleeding green, painting Smeatons tower green and all the rest of it did stick in the craw when he buggered off to Leicester but he was certainly correct in predicting what was going to happen in the following transfer window-without the rubbish that he spouted then the general reaction would probably have been one of who could blame him for looking after his own career. Sturrock and Pulis were essentially no different, remains to be seen if Lowe goes down the same path should an opportunity arise.
