international call-ups for World Cup qualifiers bomb shell

Plymouth Argyle pair Brendan Galloway and Panutche Camara will not be joining up with the Zimbabwe and Guinea-Bissau squads respectively for 2022 World Cup qualifiers at the start of September.

It follows an announcement from the EFL this afternoon that clubs have taken a collective decision not to release players for international matches that are to be in played in countries on the UK Government's 'red list'.

Galloway and Camara had both been set to make their international debuts but will now have to wait longer for that opportunity due to the continuing public health concerns caused by Covid-19.

After all the effort made by the club to get the Pompey rearranged aswell.

True but that means we hang on to Jeppers for that game. Lucky there's no games in Cornwall but I wonder if HP will get red listed by the FA?

Swansea have stepped up covid precautions after ten players tested positive in the last month

you maybe in luck as there could be restrictions coming our way if the herald is to be believe much like the ones leicester had late last year before lockdown 2.

well they wont be getting another lockdown as the country wont tolerate it so they best come up with a plan a and go with that.

I wouldn't write it off just yet. The government were very careful to make the tier 4 restrictions in NE and SE advisory which led to us all being locked down after Christmas, they look at us in a completely different light down here and I really could see the SW being put in a tier 4 and the good old D&C will enforce the rules with relish. I was questioned at the feed merchants to see if my purchase of Lamb and Chicken food was essential last year but I've seen them drive past hundreds of stupidly parked cars this summer.

As long as the vaccine keeps hospilisations down what does it matter which variant you catch?
