| They were based in Fore Street, St.Maurice Elias. I was in 3rd Plympton (Woodford) & we used to regularly link up with 4th Plympton for different activities. I think I know the reason for your post & remember the scout leader well. |

I was very shocked to read the recent newspaper article. I wonder if the victim could have been someone I may have known. As an aside 5th Plympton didn't have a scout group, I went to the one at yealmstone farm but can't remember what it was called. It wasn't the same and I left after a year. |

He was well known to be a paedo, even back in the early eighties. He was caught doing something at a camp in the mid-eighties & kicked out of the Scout movement, but that’s as far as it went at the time & several local Scout leaders resigned as a result of it largely being swept under the carpet. Thankfully he’s at last been dealt with & banged up but fully expect more cases will come forward. Incidentally, Yealmstone Farm was 6th Plympton |
