He’s our most gifted player, but there is obviously also a reason why he is with us in league 1. Not rocket science really. So we shouldn't sign players that are going to be better than L1 standard? |

Agreed or he will be yet another top player who leaves us on a free in the summer carrying on the tradition over leaving us for a fee.
Yet less than a month ago, you were slagging off DM:
Mayor wastes so much possession at times and for a guy as skillful as he is too have little in terms of assists or the inability to shoot is again the reasons why he has never played in a top league.
Your post 31.12.20.
Rather backs up what I have said about the lack of quality signings
I think we’ve all had a pop at Mayor at some time mainly at his lack of end product but the way he can carry the game up the pitch is a definite asset and his game yesterday against a team that’s been in form for a couple of years was as good a performance I’ve seen from an Argyle player for many years and that includes Carey. For me that’s why I hope we can keep him for the next couple of seasons. |

Stapes and Sturrock did it, Stapes and Ollie carried it on and built on it for a bit. As soon as the ambition goes so do the decent players. Over to you Si and Ry.
Sturrock et al didn’t have to deal with no POTD revenue for a whole season, I’m pleasantly surprised at the transfer business we’ve already done. Covid affects everybody its not an excuse to have no ambition. My point is that in Luggy and Ollie we have a yardstick to measure Si and Ry by. Did you mean Stapes and Ollie? Well... Stapes oversaw the Clubs decline into bankruptcy and administration, and Ollie fecked off as soon as the grass became greener and achieved a big fat nothing burger while at Argyle. "Sy and Ry" have them both beaten by a country mile already. |

I didn’t say that. But just to humour you, yes, of course we should be signing Championship standard players. Quite simple. We’ll go out and pick them from the ‘Championship standard’ players tree in Central Park. |

Well... Stapes oversaw the Clubs decline into bankruptcy and administration, and Ollie fecked off as soon as the grass became greener and achieved a big fat nothing burger while at Argyle.
"Sy and Ry" have them both beaten by a country mile already. For the pedants I meant Luggy and Ollie under Stapes and yes I do know the Argyle history. My point is that both managers managed to hold onto our cream long enough to mount and maintain a push into the CCC. My remark was aimed at the fans who seem desperate to cash in on Jeppers before he can kick us on to the next league. SY and Ry have never taken a team to the CCC and neither will they if they are as desperate as the fans to sell the goalscorers. |
