Argyle head into Saturday’s Sky Bet League One clash with Crewe Alexandra looking for a third consecutive win in all competitions.
The Pilgrims have won three of their last five fixtures, a run which began immediately after their visit to the Alexandra Stadium a month ago, and two on the spin – following up a hard-fought home victory over Gillingham with a win at Championship side Huddersfield Town in the Emirates FA Cup.
Goals from Ryan Hardie, Panutche Camara and captain Joe Edwards sealed a come-from-behind victory at the John Smith’s Stadium, sending Ryan Lowe’s Pilgrims into their home encounter full of confidence.
Argyle have collected more points on home soil than any other side in the division so far, but face tough opposition in David Artell’s Alex outfit, who sit on the fringes of the play-off pack, in ninth place on 31 points, after an impressive start to life back in the third tier.
Luke Jephcott goes into the game on a high as he has been named the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Player of the Month for December.

The visitors on one of my two visits to HP last season and very impressive they were. Was going to say they were unlucky but when your experienced higher level striker commits one of the worst "could have knocked it in with his cock" howlers in football history, then maybe that would be the wrong word. Seem to have adapted well to the step up and will certainly be no pushover tomorrow, very difficult game and a draw would be the form result.

David Artell says that his Crewe Alexandra squad is looking a lot healthier now. The Alex boss had to name three first-year professionals on the bench against Rochdale last week after a couple of his players had to self-isolate after coming into contact with people with Covid-19, illness (not Covid related), injury and suspension.
Captain Perry Ng returns from his six-match suspension and is available for selection.
Artell told the club’s official website: “We have plenty back. We are looking in far better shape. We were stretched last week in terms of numbers but we have a number of them back now.
“We will travel to Plymouth on two buses, socially distance, play the game and travel back.

Deserved lead should have had 3 in all honesty. Grant literally bought that pen but Crewes fault for falling for it lol. Much better possession not being too wasteful. Crewe have cut us wide open a couple of times we need to finish some chances or they will fancy the win if they get one back. Ifollow a bit glitchy today, quality not great and wtf was the comms about? Apologies for the phone commentary, feckin amateur period. One thing that has improved is some goal area close ups.

What the hell does ryan say at half time as time and time again we going into halftime in a strong postition and then go to shit in the second costing us the game or in this case the 3 points that we should have taken.

Absolutely terrible. The usual second half collapse is completely down to Lowe and his total failure to instill any sort of mental toughness in the team and his complete lack of ability to change tactics when the opposition changes theirs. It seems every second half he is totally out thought. Lowe has got to go. This crap 'manager' is taking us back down.

Fair result, Argo great first half sat deep second half and lost confidence, teams evenly matched, but two points dropped.

BBC stats has it a more even game than some on here are saying
4 bookings plus a sending off is not good either. The current defence isn't good, hate to think how bad it'll be with a few suspensions.

we were dominate and should have been 3-0 in the first half second half tried sitting on a 1-0 AGAIN and its failed as its allowed crewe to take procession and grab the equalizer and they could have nicked the win. so on that reflection it was an even game like others have said.
as soon as crewe scored the team went to pot and discipline slipped

We just get to a point in the second half where we drop off them a bit, then sit deeper as they pile on the pressure and then inevitably equalise not good enough. Grant and Camara had great first halves and were feckin dire in the second, soft back pass nearly cost us the game, Cooper was rooted to the spot like a feckin Limpet as he watched the ball go in his net and that spill was comical. We are crying out for a decent experienced centre back. Also wtf was Nouble doing playing for the corner flag for four minutes? I know we were a man down but FFS try and regain some fookin respect!

Was a game of two halves. I thought we played like the away team almost entirely. We looked (quite successfully) to catch them on the break first half but were 2nd best in the 2nd half.
Cooper doesn’t instill confidence. But in mitigation, it really can’t be easy in your first full season, playing behind a defensive back three that are at times, all over the fckin place. So fir now he retains the benefit of the doubt.
Tough game Tuesday.
