VACANCY: iFollow Commentator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and professional football commentator to join the media team at Home Park.

Having invested in a state-of-the-art broadcast suite at the Theatre of Greens in the off-season, which provides one of the few four-camera offerings in the lower leagues, we are looking to further improve our iFollow experience by recruiting a dedicated, in-house commentator for all of the Pilgrims’ first-team fixtures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for voicing the club’s live iFollow coverage, providing passionate, knowledgeable and insightful commentary of the Greens’ first-team matches, alongside selected reserve and Academy fixtures.

As well as attending fixtures at Home Park, the commentator will be required to travel with the club’s media team to away matches, including overnight stays, when required. Travel expenses and a subsistence allowance will be provided by the club.

It is an exciting time to be joining the team at Home Park, with the club on its way to realising the ambition of becoming a financially sustainable Championship-level club in the coming years.

Plymouth Argyle Football Club has strong values, and any successful applicant must demonstrate those values through their behaviours.

To apply, please send a brief covering message outlining your qualifications and experience, and any supporting audio clips, to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

The deadline for applications is Friday, 15 January, and shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview.

The club would have to be desperate to have him. On the other hand he’d be better than superfan Chris.
I would have steely.

Do you club pay to use the Radio Devon comms for ifollow? That could be why they are advertising for someone to bring the comms in-house.

Not sure if they pay. However... The big problem with using the BBC, is that Argyle cannot advertise their own services. You cannot promote any upcoming concerts or encourage fans to use the club shop etc...
