Ian Holloway has resigned as Grimsby Town manager in a shock announcement his morning.
The former Mariners boss leaves the club after less than a year in charge, amid ongoing questions over the ownership of the club.
Holloway released a statement the morning after Town's defeat to Bradford City in League Two to announce his resignation, with the search for a new manager now beginning for the Mariners.
"It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing my resignation as manager of Grimsby Town Football Club," Holloway said in a statement.
"New wannabe owners are hovering over GTFC and John (Fenty) has told me he is selling his stake in the club. So it’s time for a fresh start across the board for this great club."
