Why do Judges take such a purist approach to the law?

I've been watching this story unfold for some time. Maugham gave this guy the chance to stand down from the Lords

In light of 11 more cases cases against the Government from Good Law Project and three convictions so far including Gove and Hancock, Johnson will be seriously pissed off as he knows whats coming

Government have tried every avenue to shut down the Barrister and each time it gets highlighted more and more sign up to a monthly stipend as I've done (only £10) to pay the huge costs involved in litigation

Whilst Johnsons fanboys on ATD will claim sour grapes (for not getting a peerage) Bercow was scrupulously fair as speaker and had no hesitation in chastising both Labour and the Tories when required

Also a fervant supporter of "remain" and theres not a single person in the UK left who wont agree he was spot on. An absolute abortion of self harm perpetrated on the British people

Tremendous interview with John Bercow

Oh to have a Prime minster who can speak so clearly and articulately. He didnt even slam Johnson as such albeit his comment that Johnsons "relationship with the truth" would have reasonated across the country

It doesnt matter that he has "defected" to Labour the Lib Dems and Greens would have been fine. We need a progressive alliance to remove this corrupt and evil government from power

Still could be worse, she could be paraded as a hero by a **** for leaving the tories to board a sinking ship in labour as if that is going to make them float again.

The majority of the population that voted leave absolutely hate Bercrow because of his completely biased handling of the commons debates which was described as "driving a coach and horses through the legislation" he was the most biased speaker the country has ever seen.
Labours problem is getting rid of Starmer who no one believes in, having him surrounded by wet blanket leavers like Bercrow will just ensure more years of Tory rule, Labour voters left in droves because of Brexit and they aren't going to shift back at all until the party actually sits down and listens to what the voters want. Does anybody even know what Starmer stands for? I would have thought he would have been Harves main target as that is who is keeping the Tories in power.

Harve describing bercow as a scrupulously fair speaker just proves how much he is away with the fairies when it comes to reality.

Bercow on Starmer: I observed Keir Starmer from the Speaker's chair. He may not be Bill Clinton of Barack Obama but he is decent, honourable and intelligent and he came into politics as public service.


How's that for obsequious toadying which he probably hopes Starmer remembers the next time members are elevated to the Labour benches in the Lords. The thought of there being a "Lady Bercow" will surely have the building echoing to the sound of sniggers to raucous laughter.

house of lords should be abolished imo or at least elected members only sit in there and not filled with whoever is PM at the times mates. Doesnt do the country any good.
