Something could be happening on the george Cooper front as he has travelled down here to hold talks about a potential move after peterborough told him he can go as they need to free up wage space due to the cap. Miller also is holding talks about a potential contract also.

After a summer of speculation, fan favourite George Cooper has returned to Home Park – and this time it’s for keeps.
Having excelled in Green on a season-long loan deal last season, the popular playmaker has rejoined Ryan Lowe’s Pilgrims from fellow Sky Bet League One side Peterborough United on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
An attacker by trade, Cooper operated primarily as an advanced left wing-back in Lowe’s preferred system, acquiring the ‘assist king’ nickname among the Green Army for his contribution during the Pilgrims’ 19/20 promotion-winning campaign.
The 23-year-old provided 12 assists in just 27 Sky Bet League Two appearances to help propel the Greens to automatic promotion, and he signed off on what proved to be the final fixture of the season with a double in the 3-0 victory over Macclesfield Town at Home Park on 7 March.
A product of Crewe Alexandra’s youth system, Cooper burst onto the scene at Gresty Road as a teenager in September 2014, making his debut for the Railwaymen as a 17-year-old in the EFL Trophy, before netting his first competitive goal in Crewe’s 2-1 victory over Coventry City one month later.
After making 122 appearances for the Alex, scoring 14 goals, George was signed by Peterborough United in January 2018 on a three-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee. He scored on his debut for The Posh, coming off the bench to net in their 3-0 win against Oldham Athletic.
Cooper will once again wear the no.32 shirt for the Pilgrims’ 2020/21 Sky Bet League One campaign.

Well fewk me, that's great news and on a 3 year deal too. Wonder if we'll still go after Miller?

Absolutely we need a left wing back. Cooper can play there but he isnt enough to be the only one who can play there especially when he can play elsewhere like give Mayor a kick up the arse if he isnt producing.

Shocked at the three year deal but also pleased about it, Lowe should have seen enough of him to formulate an opinion about him by now I think it's a good signing with protection from poaching clubs with the 3 year deal at least well get a few quid if anyone wants him. Agree about the left wing back Cooper would be wasted unless he's allowed to get in and around the strikers.

Tremendous work Ryan Lowe....again Hallett is really pushing the boat out to the maximum allowable
That is going to be one very powerful midfield this season.....all 3 of the signings head and shoulders above Sarcevic and then some

Rumours on twitter that we signed Cooper for £20k, as Posh were desperate to get him off the wage bill to comply with the salary cap. If true, great bit of business.

Does seem strange to me Peterborough's keenness to get rid off him and fast to comply with the salary cap when the sold Ivan Toney for big money yesterday and he was on a good wage also.
still it worked out in our favour i really hope there's enough in our cap to land a LWB then our squad is set.

This will further increase the value of Hallet's investment, just in case he dies*

Looked a talented player in the very lmited matches that i saw him last season-couldn't defend his bank balance though and hopefully will be used in a position where he can link with Danny Mayor in an attacking way. Rumoured on Peterborough forums when he originally joined Argyle that his departure from the club was not chiefly for football reasons-lets hope that they were just rumours and that he fulfils his undoubted talent at Argyle.Good luck to him.

Fantastic news. I watched most games on ifollow last season and Cooper was always fun to watch. At the very least, he makes things happen a couple of times a game.

Refreshing to hear a player so enthusiastic about our club - with a playmaker like him our forwards are in for a goal fest!!

Our key players should be on those 3 year deals for that very reason. We lost out literally millions due to key players being allowed to walk free at the end of their contracts cause no one at argyle thought it best to cash in on them if they weren't going to stay over the years. We could see that happen again with Mayor at the end of the current season.
At least this dea protects the club better so if george does attract serious interest or wants to leave after 2 seasons.

It is tremendous to see a Chairman who is keen to enable the club to spend where it is felt appropriate on the team, terrifying thought of what might have been with Brent still in charge.

theres a keeper at training today that the kids seem to think is a trialist but i feel its that yts keeper that was on the bench for the forest green game.
plus why would ryan bring in a trialist if he's happy to go with m.cooper and mccormick and looking to bring in a loan keeper.
