Argyle will begin their 20/21 pre-season fixture schedule against neighbouring side Plymouth Parkway at Home Park on Saturday, August 8.

The behind-closed-doors fixture, which kicks off at 1pm, will be made available for supporters to live-stream free on pafc.co.uk and the club’s official YouTube channel.

The first-team squad and coaching staff reported to Home Park last week to begin preparations for the 2020/21 Sky Bet League One season. With COVID-19 testing complete and all test results returning negative, full-contact training is underway.

Ryan Lowe’s Pilgrims continue to implement plans for pre-season fixtures in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, and the club hopes to announce a complete schedule in the coming days.

Argyle’s Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Parkinson, said: “In many ways, having our players return to the pitch for a pre-season fixture is a significant milestone, and we are very much looking forward to it.

“However, it is clear that it is not simply business as usual. The lack of supporters in the stands will be evident, and it is truly disappointing not to be able to welcome the Green Army back to Home Park on Saturday.

“Although streaming revenues are going to be crucial for the club in the next few months, we hope that providing free live video coverage on this occasion will go some way to counterbalancing our collective disappointment.”

The club continues to follow government guidance, as well as the Sports Grounds Safety Authority’s coronavirus guidelines, to ensure that players, coaches and staff remain safe.

The club politely requests that supporters do not congregate outside of Home Park during this, or any other, period of activity.
