once the field hospital/ nhs nightingale type is built in bristol. that is to serve the south west for corona somehow... even in a time of national crisis england stops at bristol and anything after that is forgotten about. The whole of level four at Derriford is/has been turned into an ICU complete with ventilators and all the staff trained. I know a couple of people that work there. They are converting more wards to deal with Coronavirus at Derriford this week coming, differing wards will be for how bad the patient has the virus. I know someone who is testing oxygen and gas lines there and he said this phase is starting on Monday.
The Derriford pathology department have also ordered temporary freezers, in case the Derriford mortuary is full (think they can store around 350 bodies).
The two nurses I know are saying they are worried they will send loads of patients down from London to fill the capacity they are building. It would be horrendous to work in there if full of cases. cant see that happening especially as those field hospitals will be near to london than plymouth. |

We've had two weeks of lockdown without a massive spike in cases if everybody does the decent thing hopefully we can keep it that way.
There are about 55 confirmed cases with 5 deaths at the last count in Plymouth out of a population of around 258 thousand people. But according to the self proclaimed experts like Harve and Czarcasm people are blatently flouting the rules by doing what the government allows them to do by taking exercise and buying groceries. The streets swarming with non compliants.
Apparently no chance of any football being played in the next 5 years, give your heads a wobble lads. I don’t proclaim to be an expert - but with 50% of my household being NHS workers at Derriford I’m possibly in a reasonable position to comment. 11 have died at Derriford so far. |

11 have died at Derriford so far. Out of a population of way more than a quarter of a million. If this is getting towards the peak of the SW outbreak then we are getting away lightly. Of course it could be the start of a massive outbreak down here but as I say you just hope the lockdown happened in time down here. London is is dire straights compared to the south west. |

| I reckon the EFL should just call it and whatever the placings currently are, leave it at that.
Some clubs will not be happy but, the situation is not the fault of the EFL.
The EFL are getting some monies from the Prem and I am sure that the EFL would use that wisely and correctly in sorting the above out. |

I think this is what will end up being the case given that 80% of the season has been completed. There is no realistic chance of playing remaining games even behind closed doors. Final positions will be based on average points per game as some teams have played more games than others. In L2 for example that would put Cheltenham above Exeter in the final positions, not that it would make any difference to either team. |

On the basis that we end where we are now (and I agree there has to be adjustment for games played) than play offs wont happen so the team in 4th would also be promoted namely Cheltenham Thats sounds excellent..... |

| In the current climate there’s no rush to decide anything. It’s not like they can put a timescale on any future plan.
Lower leagues probably have more flexibility going forward than the Prem. Once dates are set in stone for Euro2021 then the Premier league can’t start the 20/21 season too late, or it’ll encroach on the Euros. Our league could possibly start in October and go into the later end of June, overlapping the Euros if need be. Not ideal but not unfeasible.
I read somewhere, should social distancing measures stay in place throughout this year about the possibility of a ‘half-season’ next year. Basically you’d play every team in your league just once. There’d be a lot to iron out in terms of criteria but it would solve the timescale issue. |

Thats sounds excellent..... Not if there was only promotions and no relegation, an idea that has been mooted. This would mean the Prem having 22 teams in 20/21. Two two up from the Championship, two up from L1 and three up from L2 to bring L1 back to 24 teams again. Everybody's happy - except those in play-off places of course.

| Despite asking twitter followers to stay at home, Man City's Kyle Walker, broke lockdown rules to party with 2 sex workers. I guess they are key wankers? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Kyle Walker faces disciplinary action from Manchester City after reportedly breaking lockdown rules by hosting a party involving two sex workers. Walker, 29, has apologised and urged people to "stay home, stay safe" during the coronavirus pandemic. In a statement, City said the England defender's actions had "directly contravened" his responsibility as a role model. It added that the club would be holding an investigation. The government has put social distancing restrictions in place to combat coronavirus. As of 09:00 BST on Sunday, 47,806 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the UK, with 4,934 deaths. City said: "Manchester City FC are aware of a story in a tabloid newspaper regarding the private life of Kyle Walker in relation to a breach of the UK lockdown and social distancing rules. "Footballers are global role models, and our staff and players have been working to support the incredible efforts of the NHS and other key workers in fighting the effects of the Covid-19 coronavirus in any way we can. "Kyle's actions in this matter have directly contravened these efforts. "We are disappointed to hear the allegations, note Kyle's swift statement and apology, and will be conducting an internal disciplinary procedure in the coming days." Last Wednesday, Walker posted on social media, urging the public to follow government guidelines on social distancing by staying indoors. In a statement responding to the reports of a party at his house, he said: "I want to take this opportunity to issue a public apology for the choices I made last week which have resulted in a story today about my private life in a tabloid newspaper. "I understand that my position as a professional footballer brings the responsibility of being a role model. As such, I want to apologise to my family, friends, football club, supporters and the public for letting them down. "There are heroes out there making a vital difference to society at the moment, and I have been keen to help support and highlight their amazing sacrifices and life-saving work over the past week. "My actions in this matter are in direct contrast to what I should have been doing regarding the lockdown. And I want to re-iterate the message: stay home, stay safe." Walker is the second high-profile Premier League player to issue express his regret for breaking government guidelines on social distancing. Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish said sorryapologised after being pictured at the scene of a car accident, hours after he posted a video urging fans to stay safe at home on social media. Grealish was fined and disciplined by his club, with the proceeds donated to the University Hospitals Charity in Birmingham. |

| As the top three and play-off positions change almost every time a match is played, there is no way the clubs in with a chance of promotion are going to voluntarily accept the season ending now unless it involves themselves going up. Likewise in reverse for those facing relegation.
It's pretty obvious this season has to be completed before a new one can begin - in whatever form that might take - otherwise the arguing (and lawsuits) will go forever.

| I think the only way round this is to finish this season, however long it takes, and play a half season next year, with contingency plans agreed in advance. Forget about trying to finish champions league or europa in summer - it aint happening. |

ands watch how they moan like a bangkok whore when they do their hair brain scheme of finishing a season off that will run into the next season with no break in between and as soon as the new season is finished the players go straight into the euros. tired and fatigue and we need a break will be oer said used as an excuse if a team doesnt do aswell. just void it now and concentrate on the new season and stop the faffing around. people will be too bust burying their dead and on the road to recovery from the impact that wont be over to give a shit about liverpool to care they got crowned champions. |

| I think they will just write this season off and award places as they ended up until now. It's going to be hard enough to start a new season without faffing about with this one. The only way I can see this season being finished is if we finish all bio security measures by end of February next year in which case there would be time to finish this season but not complete the next one. Hopefully they will make the decision well before then and we go up. I'm certain fook all will be played this summer let alone June. |

Just void the season now or do what Freathy originally said yesterday take the final tables as they stand now allowing for adjustment for games played If they dont do either season tickets sales will be miniscule moving forward if no one knows where they are |
