Manager Graham Coughlan has challenged his players to change Stags’ ‘fortunes’ away at Plymouth Argyle this weekend, as he looks to instil a ‘winning mentality’ into his side.
Mansfield, who will make the long journey to Home Park on Saturday for their next Sky Bet League Two fixture, are yet to win a game against a side currently in the top seven this season.
The boss says there is ‘no better time’ to turn Stags’ run of results around than against a Plymouth side that have won four of their last five league matches.
It [Plymouth game] is a massive challenge,” he said, speaking in Tuesday morning’s news conference at The RH Academy. “It’s a big ground, big club, brilliant fanbase. It’ll be a massive challenge and we know that.
It’s going to be difficult as Plymouth are probably the best team in the division, truth be told. It’s a mountain to climb but I’ve come here to climb a mountain and change the fortunes of this football club.
There’s no better time to change our fortunes against top seven teams than Saturday. It’s a very difficult place to go and a lot of clubs get beat up by the long journey and the size of the arena.
It’s a great place to play football and we should be looking forward to going down and playing against them
Injuries news
Midfielder Willem Tomlinson is likely to miss the fixture due to a groin injury, while wing-back Kellan Gordon (back), will be absent.
Mansfield allotted 300 tickets for this game
Plymouth
MANAGER
DOM TELFORD
We’ve got no plans to make any more before the window closes, but it does depend on whether people go out. Ryan is comfortable and confident that his squad is strong enough for the League Two run in.
Injuries news
Manager Ryan Lowe has given the latest injury updates on Telford, Ryan Taylor, Callum McFadzean and defender Will Aimson. Telford should be fit fo the game against Stevenage on Saturday, January 25. McFadzean could be available for Argyle’s away game against Colchester United on February 8. Aimson aiming to be back in early February Taylor has been out of action since late November due to a foot problem
Cashless Plan
HOME Park will take another step toward becoming a cashless stadium when Mansfield Town visit in Sky Bet League Two this weekend.
In order to improve the customer experience in our brand-new Mayflower Grandstand, we are trialling cashless payments at the food and beverage kiosks located in the upper tier of the Mayflower Grandstand. Payment options include chip and pin, contactless, as well as device payment using Android Pay, Apple Pay, etc.
The food and beverage outlets outside the Mayflower stand, in the fan zone area, will continue to accept cash, as well as the rest of the stadium, although it is the club’s intention, all being well, to move all amenities inside Home Park to a cashless system.
Two more gone to the green fields RIP
The club is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former PAfc coach Micky Hill. Scotland goalkeeper and manager Bobby Brown, who was also a former Pilgrim

Very very tough one. Cam see Cocko's boys kick starting their season tomorrow, perhaps with a brace from Maynard.
Argo 1-3 Mansfield

I was going to give you a LOL - then I had a think about it! I'm not sure about tomorrow. I have an uneasy feeling.
Hopefully, I will be proven to be talking complete bolloxios once again and we'll beat the Stags 4-0.

I echo POIs slight nagging doubt, I've gone for three nil to the Argo but you just know sooner or later Palmer will throw he ball in his own net, Sawyer will chip him with a back pass whilst their worst player fists the ball into the net right in front of the ref who decides to send the goalie off. We haven't had one of those games in a while.

In all honesty, it looked like Freathy might be right until we scored. Mansfield should have been up by four or five...

Mansfield started by far the better and could and indeed should have been out of sight after 30 minutes. I still think Cocko will go away with at least a point, but probably all 3.
