| Mauricio Pochettino sacked by Spurs
Pochettino has been relieved of his duties after five-and-a-half years in charge. Spurs, who were in the Champions League final only six months ago, have endured a tough start to the season and are currently 14th in the Premier League table.
Chairman Daniel Levy, who appointed Pochettino in June 2014, said: "We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the board have taken lightly, nor in haste. |

| Notwithstanding the predictable hand wringing in the press, I think the CL final was the height of his achievement. He said he would have left if they'd have won and following the failure to strengthen the squad after the defeat you always felt his heart was no longer in it. Same with the players for whom this fatalism has clearly rubbed off on.
The bigger picture for them is getting back into the Champions League, which is shit or bust considering how much they have spunked on the new ground. So in that regards Mourinho looks like a panic appointment.
They should have sacked Poch back in May and got Allegri in, I can't see this ending well. |

| I used to love Mourinho when he first came to the Prem. His star has waned now though. Him and Levy working together is a recipe for the sack. |

| He will rally the troops, bag a few scalps and have it all looking rosy in no time. Then he will fall out with everybody and get sacked as per normal. |

I’ve got a feeling that’s all priced in. All he’s got to do get them into the champions league, next season is next season. It seems that Poch sulked his way to the sack, I think the players had had enough. |

That's exactly how I see it panning out. He's had his halcyon days. He's become a managerial journey man now, imho. |

| He's going to do well to bring that dressing room back together this season. Kane will want to move on after Euros knowing time to win anything is running out, then Jose will have a chance to rebuild |

What price Kane ?? He's only just signed a new 5 year contract. Levy would expect the bidding to start at £200 Million |

And walk away with his pockets full of cash! The PriceofFootball twitter account, which does a lot of analysis on football finance tweeted this about the Special One/ Special Once- PriceOfFootball @KieranMaguire It cost Chelsea £23.1 million to sack their manager in 2007/8 and ‘just’ £8.3m in 2015/16. It cost Manchester United £19.6m to sack their manager in 2018/19. Do these sackings have anything in common? #Mourinho |
