| When the draw was made I'd thought we'd have at least a chance here. But Bolton have improved and we've got even worse. Now it's practically a bye through to R2 for Bolton. Another shocking performance and heavy defeat for Lowe's losers. Pity those who are travelling. |

| Lowes strongest team to make the second round, but then you look at the back three names and think - oh dear! |

| We won, well done to RL and the squad, thought it would be a narrow victory the other way. |

| Good result. Although not sure what sort of team Bolton put out and whether they rested key players but they're in with at least a slim chance of L1 survival which must be their priority. |

| Great result and good performance by all accounts.
Little bit bizarre that after beating a club with such a rich history on their own patch, a far bigger test comes a week later against an almost literal village team. |

| ARGYLE manager Ryan Lowe enjoyed the ideal response to his criticism of game-management from the Pilgrims in a deserved 1-0 victory at Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup. Callum McFadzean scored the only goal early in the first period and the Greens played some great stuff in attacking areas before settling into a resolute second-half display in repelling a Bolton side from the league above. The Pilgrims have not played since conceding a last-minute goal in the defeat to Chelsea in the Leasing.com Trophy on a night when the gaffer was slightly irritated by that aforementioned game-management, but the Bolton experience was a happier end of the spectrum. “I’m very pleased [with the game-management],” said Ryan. “Where we’ve been conceding goals, and it might still happen, it was fantastic [to respond]. “We’ve worked on it and we’re all learning every day. The game-management and the football we played today was fantastic. “It was a good performance, first and foremost, and a very good win. Obviously, we had to dig in during the second half because they went from back to front quite quickly and we withstood that. “The overall performance and the levels of the boys was fantastic. We knew this would be a tough place to come and not an easy ride for anyone in League One, but I thought the best team won. “We’re always wanting to improve and there were times, when we were passing through the lines, that we looked a very good team. It was a great goal and we should have had another one.” |
