| Town announce profit of £150,573 for the year ending 31st May 2019.
Turnover in 2018/19 increased by 11.8% compared to the previous year, primarily due to an increase in central distributions received from the Football Association and the Football League, player trading and reaching the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup for the first time in five years. The ability to be able to make a consistent investment into the Youth Academy will assist the club in reaching its long term goals, enabling it to maintain a clear progression pathway. This is evident with a number of graduates earning professional contracts and fighting for first team opportunities in the past year. It was noted in the previous year’s report that the club were asked to reconsider other potential sites due to there being no political backing for relocation to Peaks Parkway. Due to this further delay, the club has commenced a programme of works to improve the facilities at the stadium. This includes disabled access and facilities, playing facilities, providing heating to the Main Stand, replacement floodlights and refurbishment of the toilet blocks.
Team
After an unplanned weekend off, Grimsby Town are back in League Two action on Saturday as they make the long trip to Devon. The Mariners take on Plymouth Argyle as they look to get back to winning ways, having picked up just one point during October. They were denied the chance of ending their winless run last weekend as a waterlogged pitch at Blundell Park saw their clash with Cheltenham postponed Things are looking brighter at Home Park this weekend - although Town will be heading there without Max Wright. The young winger misses out again as he continues his recovery from a thigh problem, although he is expected to make a full return to training next week.
Luke Hendrie, meanwhile, faces three weeks out after picking up a hamstring injury, although there's better news for Ethan Robson after his return in the EFL Trophy.
Referee watch
Antony Coggins will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s clash at Home Park.
The Oxofrdshire official has been in charge of ten games so far this season, including Town’s 2-0 defeat to Crewe Alexandra last month.
He’s shown 35 yellow cards during that time, and is yet to brandish a red thus far |

| Because of the severe weather overnight and on Saturday morning, we have regrettably taken the decision to cancel the match-day Fan Zone. |

| They were too busy picking up the toppled swingball set to look up at the roof I guess. |

| Whoever is responsible should be sacked, it was at least six hours of daylight so why was it not spotted earlier? what about the poor fans who pay top whack travel long distances to get treated like this? Its alright for the usual leg humpers to say its not the clubs fault but of course it fookin is! Amateur as always with no sign of change. |

| Share this page Saturday's League Two game between Plymouth Argyle and Grimsby Town has been postponed because of "significant damage" to the roof of Home Park caused by "severe winds" overnight. The match was called off less than three hours prior to kick-off, with Grimsby fans facing a 680-mile round trip to get to the game in Devon. Plymouth said they were left with "no option" but to postpone the contest. No details have yet been released regarding the rearranged fixture. "The continuing weather conditions, with winds gusting to gale-force at times, has made it impossible to safely access the roof to make repairs," said a Plymouth Argyle statement. "With supporters' safety of paramount concern, and following consultation with the police and safety experts, we have been advised that we are not allowed to open the stadium." It is the second successive Grimsby match to be postponed, after their game at home to Cheltenham Town last Saturday was called off because of a waterlogged pitch. BBC SPORT

Grimsby should sue the muppets, Argo claim to be a professinal club but we all know thats bollox. Simon Hallet should find out why it took the well paid management till gone twelve to make a decision. |
