I wouldn't quite go as far as solid. I've no idea how Rory Burns hasn't got out yet given that he's pretty much gone through the whole range of terrible shots. We've had outside edges, hits wickets with bails that wouldn't dislodge an awful attempted heave of Lyons by Root which thank feck pitched just outside leg. But still 124-1 is decent. |

| 50 for Root.
As much as the commentators were raving about Smith's innings yesterday, he's been caught cheating and shouldn't be allowed to play on the international stage again, along with his partners in crime Bancroft and Warner.
I wouldn't have been on my feet applauding when he reached his ton. |

| Selecting a veteran bowler who had not played in anger for a month was crazy. Lack of bowling and Smith wore us down.
Looking forward to Archer rattling a few cages at Lord's. |

| I agree with that. No idea who passed him fit. Same people who decided Jason Roy could open the batting probably. He got out to the most brainless shot ever yesterday.
Moeen Ali needs a crash course in how to turn the ball. It says it all when Joe Friggin Denly was the more threatening. He's offering shit all with the bat neither. |
