| Fair play to Macey tonight, got the three points but could have done much better in second half, great pen under pressure from Carey. |

| Good win that.
I should have been working this evening but the weather forecast changed that during the afternoon however I'll be fecked if I'm paying a match day premium AND having to faff around at the ticket office to do it.

| All but safe now. The odds on 9 lower table teams having a better run in are slim. Beat Fleetwood and a top ten finish is a genuine possibility - pretty remarkable, considering how rubbish we've been for long periods this season. |

| Great result, despite 2nd half performance. April games look tough, another 7 or 8 points should be enough. |

| Painful to watch, so many chances missed, don’t think our defenders could handle the wind in the second half but 3 points are in the bag and I suppose that’s the main thing |

| I think we can relax with the knowledge that there's actually quite a few shit teams in league 1 and lots of bleddy awfule ones. I actually could have got this spot on if Ladapo had taken the pen as well. I'd say we are safe. |

| That was a dodgy win. But in many ways not that dodgy.
We started in fine fettle. Dominated the first 25 mins or so in some style and it was only a matter of time before we scored. Step forward Freddie. Job done.
But it wasn't. We should have Chesterfielded Shrewsbury in that opening spell but only scored the once.
And the game turned. Shrewsbury started to gain some possession and became more and more dominant. Half time came as a relief. It should never have been thus.
The second half was much the same as the end of the first. Constant Shrewsbury pressure but, in truth little threat. Macey was again solid and relatively untroubled.
Then a, frankly, soft challenge by Carey gave them a penalty. Macey saved it but 1-1 on the rebound.
All sorts of chessy stuff by both managers. We started with 4 at the back went to 3 CBs then went back to a 4. All to no avail. We just couldn't get hold of the ball.
And then a late pen, possibly dodgy - my view was awful - for us. Carey slammed it home.
A grateful but decidedly shakey 3 points.
MotM? God knows.
That's about it bar one moment of wizardry from Lameiras but he didn't score.
That and the skinniest lino/porkiest ref combo ever.
2 more wins needed. |

| One other thing,
When we are at it like we were at the start tonight we are a joy to watch. We have players throughout the team who are comfortable on the ball and play it into tight spaces almost as a preference.
Obviously it ain't going to happen this year but if we can keep this team together I don't think we're far off being very, very good at this level.
The Big Question is whether we, or anybody, can play to the intensity required for 90 minutes? |
